    Hi all,
Been doing some calculations in the sun :j and worked out even with just doing minimum payments on the debts I will exceed £5000 this year, which was my original target, as the credit card is paid off.
    Drumroll......

    New target: #037 of £8000
I've paid off another furniture installment today, of £47.54, updated total and target in my signature.
    Thanks!
    Baby due 21/06/2017 :)

Worth pointing out now that as all my debt is at 0% I'm only making minimum payments off my debt and holding the money in 5% current accounts earning interest until my 0% runs out. YNAB makes this easy - plus I can see the interest earned actually come off my other debts as well.

    Me too Money Muppet!

In other news, OH and I have taken the leap and joined finances. Bad news being that now means my (our) debt total to be cleared has gone up. But even with that, the percentage paid off has still gone up this month :)

    New total £4405.82.

Payments this month of £400 takes me to...
    #5 1808.76/4405.82 (41.1%)
    DFBXmas2015 #5 £4405.82/£4405.82 (100%) :j

Paid off another £218.96 , so totals are:

    122 £4004.04/£30,113 13.30%

I'd love to pay off heaps more, but this is a slow time of the year for the business, so have to keep funds in reserve :o

I hope things pick up on that front, because at this rate I'll be nowhere near paid off the debt by the time December rolls around.

One childless 23 year old has just told me, in all seriousness, that it's a pity I'm not of child bearing age because then I could get heaps of tax credits from "the state" which would "help". Cheeky thing. I said to her when she's got a couple of toddlers, in amongst her uni studies (hey, if having children is such a gravy train, why wait!?!), she'll be able to let me know how that's going.
  • Payday for dh today :j which means i've paid some more bills, although i've only paid minimum payments this month as our holiday is in 5 weeks :).

    #055 £2093.73/£10,000

Very pleased that i've hit 20%.

Been a busy month for me. Firstly, I sold my beloved motorbike and have put 100% of the funds towards paying off my debt. It was a hard decision but I decided clearing this debt is more of a priority at the moment. I can save up and buy another one in the future so it won't be forever.

Secondly, I applied for 2 credit cards with 0% money transfer rates for 3 years that I found on this fantastic website. I then transferred the maximum amount of cash into my bank account and used it pay off my bank loan. It's like getting a 3 year interest free loan to pay off my 7.9% bank loan! It's brilliant and all thanks to the info provided by Martin and his website. It does mean that I still have a significant amount of debt that I still intend on clearing asap but at least this way I know that every pound I pay goes to paying off that debt and not towards interest (The interest added to the loan each month was over £100 ).

    So with that in mind:

    #119 - £30,690/£42,908 (71.5%)

Thanks Martin and keep going everyone :T
  • Well done every one, keep going :)

I am itching for payday to come around again to pay off some more debt, only half way through the month for me though :(

I am slightly annoyed with the hubby, since i have started my full time job hes hardly done any over time. Kind of defeats the object of me working full time on a higher salary. I expected him to keep at least 2 over time shifts a month- (this would have paid for our holidays and HIS passport!) while i concentrate on clearing the debt. I keep telling him that his passport needs renewing- i can see me going on my own at this rate! I wont remind him again - sick of being the responsible one, especially considering the bank loan im trying to clear ASAP he originally took out.

Hi everyone, finally got my CC statement (a little slow this month due to the bank hols) so I update:

    #40 now at £2,259.94

Really happy with this, well over 50% of my target now. Need to push on, had a bit of a womble this month as wanted to spend some money on home improvements. However, looking at the numbers, if I can keep paying off the debt at just under the current rate, I'll be debt free by next summer - so the house will have to wait.
