    Morning everybody!

Been laying low with some weird flu bug but will drag myself to the bank today to pay some ebay cash off one of the cards. It's only £20 and the interest this month is £26  can't get accepted for any more 0% deals so just got to hack away at it.

Just discovered topcashback site which is a revelation, although it's making me want to buy things just to get the cash back....I don't think that's the point is it! ;)

Thanks for all the posts, it's a really active challenge and so helpful to read your successes and set backs.

    .

I have used topcashback but i much prefer quidco. I started using it in January and ive already got £85 cash back- through no extra spending.

I needed new home insurance (renewal time) so i did my quote on quidco through their comparison site and got £24 cash back (policy was £101 for buildings and contents for a full year)

I always check on quidco before doing my online shopping- ive earnt cash back from groceries i was already buying.

I got £7.50 back from EE for activating a free paygo sim card (which i needed when my teenage son lost his phone )

I have my hubby and teenagers using my quidco account- for example my son bought some trainers online from sports direct- i got the cash back and also a £5 voucher in store for doing click and collect)

I will be using quidco when switching energy suppliers in a few weeks time and also when i renew my car insurance. Ka-Ching.

It all adds up without breaking the bank. :j

  • I also love quidco, in the 3 years I've been using it I've received £560 in cash back :j just by buying the things I normally would. I've also received £280 form tcb but that was mainly for when they had their bingo deals on.

    Morning all.

I wonder if I could join your crew? I have some debt I need to shift, hopefully by September, but definitely by Christmas.

The total amount is £2461.30. I am hoping a thread like this will keep me motivated enough to make it disappear :D

    Good morning!

Just a small payment of £37 this week to my brother. On track to pay him off completely at the end of the month then I can really start to snowball my real debts!

  • I've been putting off posting here while I decided what to do about my debts and now I think I finally have! I'm not going to worry about my kitchen loan - it's 0% interest and finishes next April but I think even if I won the lottery I wouldn't bother overpaying it as the monthly payments are low and it's not costing me anything! So I'm changing my totals slightly to cover my last real debt - my HSBC CC and add on the money for our holiday for next year (Florida for 2 weeks, not MSE at all I'm afraid :o). I've not made any extra small payments through the month for the last couple of months - I've been overpaying by a big chunk on payday but the balance doesn't seem to shift when it's only updating on a monthly basis so my aim now is to make more small overpayments again so I feel like I'm actually getting somewhere :D

So pablo can you please update my numbers on the front page to:

  • Morning,

    I'm in the process of moving job at the moment. It's within the same company, but means changing shifts etc. This means I don't really know what money I'll be getting and when. So, I have sold some shares to help smooth the transition. With the money raised I've filled out my budget in YNAB so whatever I get paid will be a bonus basically. After doing this YNAB has let me pay; £997.49 which brings my total to;

    #75 £3674.89/£18624.98

This just gets me under the £15k mark. Quite pleased! :j
