Blimey, haven't been on for a while as I've been so busy and realised I've graduated to the next thread in my absence! 24+4 today.....good luck ladies and see you on the next thread.

Talking of being MSE, we've bought everything we need except cot and car seat (which family are buying) for less than £250 - that includes a pramette and a travel system! eBay is your friend :)

I initially used disposables with DD1. Then when she was 10 months old I decided to switch to cloth for the sake of the environment. It was then that we discovered her severe nappy rash had been a reaction to disposables! We also had to stop using disposable baby wipes it was so bad. We used cloth wipes or flushable liners soaked in camomile tea.

With DD1 I used Eco disposables for the first few days then went to full time cloth. DD2 was the same. I used them out and about as well as I had no choice with DD1 so we got used to it.

Sadly DH convinced me to give away a lot of our nappies after DD3 was potty trained so I will have to buy some more this time. I won't be using disposables, yes because of the monetary and environmental costs but mainly because of the risk of a severe skin reaction.

As for Eco disposables, I tend to use Moltex Oko, which you can buy online.

Wow Amy that is incredible. I don't think I'll get it in that budget, but you've given me something to aim for.

See you on the next thread. (I did calculate your dates before graduating you!).

Michbright - I was a cloth bum baby for the same reason, I had awful nappy rash which cleared up when my parents started using terry cloth nappies.

I think I'll start off in disposables and then switch to cloth. I kind of want to use terry cloth old school but appreciate that they leak and are no where near as good as the new style ones!

I'll use disposables for the first couple of weeks probably as well.

There is nothing wrong with terry nappies, a lot of people still use them and prefer them to modern ones. They won't leak if you use a decent wrap and get the fit right :)

Just vommed at work for the first time. I was hoping I'd escaped that particular pleasure, but apparently not!

Hope you feel better. I only did it a few times thankfully!

I've just bought a sacroiliac belt for my SPD. Hoping that it makes even a small difference to the pain!

(just jumping ahead a little) re SPD, I had it last pregnancy and saw an osteopath who specialises in pregnancy complaints. I saw him three times and it made such a huge difference! I was like a new woman.

Totally fed up of the blocked nose now.

For those who have got/are getting the bugaboo cameleon, do you know if the maxi cosi pebble plus fits it or not or if it is only the pebble that works with the adapters. I really like this one (probably get one second hand), and just need to know which car seat to get with it.
