    Welcome Pinkshoes.

Nice to see this thread has picked up a bit!

My mum and gran didn't have much ms with any of their pregnancies and they have a mix of boys and girls so I don't think there's much credence in it.

On my scan baby's NT was 1.3 but we've been called in for an appointment on Friday to discuss the combined test results :( I didn't sleep a wink on Friday night, felt much calmer yesterday after doing so reading but still worried. I know the chances are still that everything will be ok.I just find it really frustrating that they won't tell me my risk factor until the appointment.

How long did they take to contact you? I am sure mine said 3 working days, so hopefully my phone will not ring tomorrow or Tuesday.

My NT measurements were 1.5mm and 2.2mm, and they were measuring 62mm and 58mm respectively.

Using the calculator for NT measurement and rump to crown length:

    http://www.perinatology.com/calculators/Crown%20Rump%20and%20Nuchal%20Translucency.htm

Then twin 2 come out at 86th percentile, which I guess is a little higher.

Will have to wait what bloods come back as. I will be 36 when they are born, so practically geriatric!!

At least it is now the summer holidays, so I am thoroughly looking forward to not getting out of bed tomorrow, although that will not stop DS jumping on me.

No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)
  • Rambosmum - hope it all goes well on friday. I dont know whats normal with the test and calling people to appointments. I declined them all :-/ wont decline things like whooping cough and flu vaccine but chose not to have the test as they can be so worrying if the results are not great even though theres a good chance everything will still b perfect.

Pinkshoes - geriatric :rotfl: i'll be 31 when this one is born, i had just turned 21 when dd was born but feel much more ready now im a bit (lot) older! Dont forget to add yourself to the list.

Hieveryone - i asked the sex with dd, didnt regret it, but didnt tell anyone, and didnt buy anything pink, so wasnt worth it really. I didnt find out with ds, and wont this time. Most people seem to ask though.

Been in work all weekend, which was a shame
With the sun out. Trying to think of a way to entertain the monkeys tomorrow!!
Still here..... but working on that!

Pinkshoes, it was 6 working days - they said a week but it's slightly longer. Got notified by letter with an appointment. It doesn't even say it's about the results of the combined test but I can't imagine it being anything else. Trying not to worry, after all worrying won't change the outcome, if baby has a chromosome abnormality it's got it already. Going to have the amnio and take it from there.

I got my results yesterday and my NT measurement puts me in the 98th centile (3mm, CRL 68mm), but with the combined blood results I am classed as lower risk.

I was worried when I saw the 3mm reading as I know this is the upper end of 'normal'. The scan images were really blurry so god knows how they measure the NT accurately.

    Hopefully all is fine rambosmum.

Glad to see you here pinkshoes. Tiny bit jealous of your twins. I would love twins. Not sure if OH and me will try for a second, so was secretly hoping for a BOGOF this time but no luck. Happy to get the one wriggly peanut (its name now).

Anyone else planning on staying team yellow or have done in the past? Did you find buying things in advance easy enough?

I also caved in on the weekend and bought a doppler...I know..I know...midwives don't like people using them at home and dont try to hear HB until at least 16 weeks, but I know I wont freak out if I dont hear the HB as I know it is an art and I soooo want to hear the HB. I didn't even get told the heart rate at the scan, so would love to hear it soon. I pick it up from the post office later today. For £20 if it works then great, if not, then I haven't wasted too much and can ebay it later.

14 weeks tomorrow and still no sign of any bump and symptoms all gone except for a bit of stretchy muscle ache every now and then. I thought the first trimester had a lot of waiting....

Had my 16 week appointment last week, got to hear baby's heartbeat for the first time which was amazing! Other than that it was all a bit rushed, midwife didn't weigh me or take any blood (I've been told I'll need a test for gestational diabetes), think she was running behind but because I have no clue what to expect I didn't know whether to say anything?!

I still can't believe there's a baby in there, I don't think it will really feel real until I have a real bump and feel some proper kicks. So could have a few weeks wait yet!! :)

    I am SOOOOO tired today.

Washed and vaccumed my car today, as it will have to be sold. There is no way I can fit two rear facing seats in the back and a pram in the boot. Not even one that folds up really small!! Will have to buy something a bit bigger - love my little car so much!

I cannot believe that a simple task like a car wash and vacuum has left me feeling so exhausted. Currently slumped in front of TV with DS watching TV. Bad mummy!

Have to sell my lovely little car too. Even with the best will in the world, I don't think I'll get a baby let alone a pram in my two seater convertible. :(

If you can turn the front passenger air bag off, then rear facing child seat in the front, and a baby bjorn carrier instead of a pram.

    Problem solved!!

(Your OH will have to hitch a lift - I'm sure he won't mind...)
