Great news today - hubby got a job for September! He's changing careers and we were expecting about a 10k pay drop for him to do this, not great but survivable- this job is not only a great opportunity but also a only a 4k pay drop! It will make finances on mat leave so much easier. Out to celebrate tonight. No champagne for me though :(

It really is! Plus I've found out my post is being made permanent so no job hunting on mat leave.

Just noticed that you are having a c-section - have docs decided this? I don't know when they make such decisions.

That sucks snowball, hasn't hit me yet. Do you reckon there is truth in the old wives tale that if you have lots of heartburn your baby will be born with lots of hair :-)

Rambosmum that's great hope you enjoyed your celebrations xx

Been a bit of an emotional wreck today. Lots going on and just not coping. Oh well tomorrow's another day

I've had worse (before pregnancy) so been expecting it. I've never heard that one before, but my mum told me she had it bad with me and I was born with lots of hair, so who knows!

I'm sorry to hear that, hope you've had a good nights sleep and feel a bit better today x
  • The heartburn/hair thing is a myth. I drunk Gaviscon last pregnancy and DS was born with a small amount of hair!

Excellent news Rambosmum, that must make you feel a lot more secure x

I think these old wives tales are funny, my nan told me the other day that I shouldn't stretch up when pregnant as it will cause the cord to wrap around babys neck.......

Haha, yes, a few people have already told me what sex it is because of the condition of my hair, the changing shape of my body etc! And when I laughingly relay these predictions to other people, they very seriously disagree with said predictions for a whole host of other symptoms I am apparently displaying. But hey, they have to listen to me witter on about pregnancy and babies so much, I just smile and chuckle in response :) Half of them may well be proved right ;)
