12-24 weeks pregnant (part 4)

I'm very overweight, so probably won't ever look pregnant. When I had DS, a couple of people asked who's he was as they didn't know I was pregnant. I assume the same will happen this time. It doesn't bother me though as I would hate all the attention that pregnant people get.
I'm 20 wks now though and feel huge (even for me!). It's really only been in the last week or two that I can really feel like there's something there.
My sister didn't find out she was pregnant until she was 6 months gone. She didn't have a bump. Just after she found out though, a massive bump appeared. It was like the baby was hiding!
If you can't see anything yet, you'll probably wake up one day and find your bump has appeared overnight!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
Helloooooo! It is so nice to finally make it to this thread!
My little twixes (left and right, as labelled on the scan by hospital) sppeared fine on the scan, both wriggling around and waving. One took ages to get into position so they could take measurements, but after a lot of jiggling, we got there in the end.
Next scan mid september, but we are going to pay for a private scan at 16 weeks to find out the gender, as with twins I need to get organised which might involve selling DS's old stuff if it is two girls!
My initial thoughts was two boys, but as I am still feeling nauseous, I think one of each. not sick enough for it to be two girls!
(I am basing this on most people that had girls were much sicker than those of us that had boys. i had no sickness with DS).Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -

Welcome pinkshoes!
I was really sick with DS as well, couldn't really keep anything down for 6 months. I'm not as bad this time, and will hopefully find out what we are having next week."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". I don't know whether to find out or not at my next scan.
A BIG part of me wants to. I want to be able to think to myself 'my little boy/my little girl' etc and have that experience.
A part of me also wants a surprise, although I am not a good surprise person (very impatient!).
My problem is that no one else wants to knowand I'm worried that I will let it slip.
I also wonder if I should leave it as long as I possibly can, because if I do find out at 20 weeks, I can't put that information back, whereas if I leave it as long as I can stand it, I can always book into a private scan to find out.
Argh I'm so indecisive :rotfl:

I think the meeting of the baby at the end is big enough occasion so I'm happy to know.
You could always ask the sonographer not to tell you but write it down and put it in an envelope so that if you want to look later you can"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -

Me too, people say 'oh but you'll ruin the surprise' - part of me wants to giggle 'it would be a surprise if a puppy came out, but it's going to be one or the other, so not that big a surprise really!' :rotfl:
I doubt the envelope thing would work to be honest, I'd have it opened before she could seal it - I really am that impatient!
Did anyone find out and regret it?

Welcome Pinkshoes.
Nice to see this thread has picked up a bit!
My mum and gran didn't have much ms with any of their pregnancies and they have a mix of boys and girls so I don't think there's much credence in it.
On my scan baby's NT was 1.3 but we've been called in for an appointment on Friday to discuss the combined test resultsI didn't sleep a wink on Friday night, felt much calmer yesterday after doing so reading but still worried. I know the chances are still that everything will be ok.I just find it really frustrating that they won't tell me my risk factor until the appointment.

Sorry to hear that, fingers crossed all is ok. I think it's a shame they won't tell you the risk factor!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0
