I used slings rather than a pram for DS and plan to do the same this time. I've got a Moby Wrap for when baby is little (any stretchy wrap is probably just as good)
When it's a bit older, I have a woven wrap and a connecta carrier.
The best option for a sling/carrier is one which goes knee to knee on the baby, rather than one which has their legs straight. It means they are in a seated position and much more comfortable for both baby and you. It's better for their hip development as well.Hello ladies. I'm coming over from the less than 12 weeks pregnant thread. Had my scan today and I'm 12 + 5 and due 16.01.16 so a littlie compared to some of you guys!
Bean wasn't behaving for the sonographer so had to go for a walk and put my bum in air to try and get the nuchal fold measurement! All is as well as it can be so far though so I'm allowing myself to get a tiny bit excited!
Welcome rambosmum! Mine was the same at the scan, I had to do lots of jumping around, go for a walk and get a cold drink!frozenpenguin wrote: »Hello everyone (and  to rambosmum)
I've come over from the 0-12 weeks thread after having been on the 'trials and tribulations 12m+' thread for a couple of years.
12 weeks and 3 days today so still a long way to go to January - it feels like such a long time but I'm hoping it'll pass fairly fast!
Hugs to you all xxx

I was thinking of trying a sling but don't really know where to start.0

Snap rambosmum! We were wondering about a sling as well but how you go about choosing anything baby-related, I'm not sure! It all seems very complicated and confusing.
Mother and mother-in-law are both itching to get their hands on a baby list, they've been asking for weeks but we haven't even begun to think of what we'll need. Part of me thinks "yep, let's get organised" (I do like a good list) and the other part of me is screaming "it's far too early!"0 -

You sound exactly like me! Today OH and I made a list of baby names we both agree on (with varying levels of agreement!). My sister said today that she wants to buy us something and asked what we wanted - I haven't even thought about it.0 -
Hi ladies,
I've been quiet since i introduced myself, i'm 15w 2d today and have my 16 week appointment this afternoon. I cant help worrying that theres something wrongi told dh and he said i was exactly the same last time worrying but i just cant help it!
As for buying i havent started yet, with ds and dd i bought one thing after the 12 week scan and then the pushchair was ordered after the 20 week scan (with ds), i was quite laid back otherwise and bought most things at about 36 weeks!!
As ds isnt even 2 yet ive got most things now, although i will b getting a double pushchair. We wont be finding out the sex, so i'll either have piles and piles of clothes or none at all! My niece is 17 months though and ive been promised some of her stuff 2, which is really lucky!
Hope everyone has had a good weekend and not feeling 2 dodgyStill here..... but working on that!0 -
Thanks Jwil i'll have a look at the Moby slings.
We bought a pram off ebay last night it was a Mama & Papa Sola. Its no longer sold as new and which had very good reviews. It was £100 for the carrycot, buggy and car seat. Its in really good clean condition, going to attack the bits that can't go in the machine with a pressure washer this weekend and possibly get some new wheels and rain cover.
The car seat is the thing thats not in the best condition (Food marks etc) but we are not going to use it anyway, they say it hasn't been in an accident but best to be safe than sorry, not sure what to do with it though, should I take it down the dump...?
littleskintdragon good luck this afternoon, its normal to worry, good that you and your OH can support each other
I'm 21 weeks today feeling so many kicks now :-) My grandad is in hospital and felt it kick last night he was so chuffed :-)Recently married and loving it x0 -
Thanks nightsky
Appointment was ok, midwife tried getting a heartbeat though which took 15 mins which was a very long and not pleasant time!! Got it vaguely in the end but im looking forward to my 20 week scan now for reassurance!!Still here..... but working on that!0 -
Welcome frozen penguin and Rambosmum. Pleased to see you over here. It is a bit quiet.
I bought a few unisex bits today from Boots as they have a half price sale on. Also got a baby bath yesterday 2nd hand from a local lady.
I have my consultant appointment on 21st July, and 20 week scan on 6th Aug. can't wait to find out the sex. I think I may be having a girl, but hub is convinced it's another boy!
My pelvic pain has started already so been feeling a bit down in the dumps.0 -
I looked online at the boots sale and there were a few bit i liked, but i went to the shop and none of them were there! I may have another look online, but i'm not ready to buy yet really.
I keep swapping between thinking boy/girl, i've been right with my other 2, and was convinced from day 1, that dd was a girl and ds was a boy. Right now i think girl!!Still here..... but working on that!0 -
I haven't bought anything yet. I do have a couple of sleepsuits, vests and things which I got for my sister but she never took and I really like them, plus they are unisex (though unless it's a dress I'm pretty easy going with what can be considered unisex!
I'm doing ok, felt real waves of sickness today but I'm nowhere near as tired.
Do this group have a list that I can add myself to?0
