    Hi there
I'm 25 weeks now but I can't see a 3rd trimester thread. Anyone know if there is one?

    Hi all,

Just a quick post to join in please. I am 16 weeks, due on 5th Dec. Although I will be having a section due to previous issues. Not sure when as my consultant apt was cancelled and a new one made for August. Guess they can't be that concerned! This is baby no 3 for me. My little girl is 3 in September and my little boy is 15m.

Hello, quick drop in, hello to the graduates for the under 12 weeks group x

22+3 today.. So tired, my little boy is full of a cold so I've been pretty much awake since 3am all week, work has been hard! It's his first birthday in 10 days and I've done nothing for his little party we are having the day before!

Went to see the cardiologist this week and he cannot see any problems with the heart. We are still totally in shock as 2 sonographers and consultant detected the same issues and we were basically told we were going to see the consultant for a diagnosis and to be advised of the scale of the problem. So to get there and for him to say things are fine was so unexpected. He will see us again at 30 weeks and I think if all is fine we will just be referred back to our local hospital. I won't rest until this little man is here, this is twice now we have been told our baby has a potential issue.

Started to think about birth this week and getting a bit worried! Mainly because my episiotomy stitches broke down last time, the healing has been a bit messy and I have some scar tissue which is tender when you touch it or DTD, so how am I going to handle another baby passing by it! Sorry if TMI!

Oh finally, when I was pg with James last year and used these boards loads of us got together and made a facebook group for pregnancy and baby chatter and advice. The first babies are turning one now, the youngest is a few weeks old. We have even met up in small local groups in real life! Well anyway there is a new group that has been formed, a few have had babies already and the rest are still pregnant (and due at any point this year!)

So if you would like to join, please PM me your email address that you use to log into facebook and I will add you to the group x x

Must be hard all that uncertainty, good to go back at 30 weeks and check in again just to help put your mind at rest.

You must be exhausted, this is my first so don't have another little one to run around after. Am sure the 1st Birthday party will go well, balloons for the little ones and cakes for the adults :T

    Hi all,

Just having a wee rant really - hopefully to see that I'm not being totally irrational!

This is my first pregnancy so naturally everyone is very excited (myself and OH are both only children) - BUT - do any of you feel that you have suddenly become almost a 'possession' in other peoples lives?

My MIL, usually a slightly overbearing and overly helpful woman, has suddenly become Mrs Nightmare in not 'allowing' me to do a thing for myself whether in either her or my own house!!

Protests from me of 'I'm not ill, just pregnant' go totally unnoticed, and things get taken off me to do i.e. dishes, ironing - literally whipped out of my hands!

How would you all deal with this - saying something to her is not really an option!!

(or am I being irrational? please don't say I am! ha!)

    xx

I had a similar issue, I was at my MIL and in one sentence she would say don't listen to all this modern rubbish about not eating this and don't do that. Then the next min she would say, sit down, don't do this or that you need to rest.... I can't win!!

Quite a few people have been doing it and to start I fought against it with similar protests but I have given in now. I think I have realised that actually I don't have as much energy and so having someone run around after me is not a bad thing, they care which is nice and I need the energy for when they are not around and life goes on :)

PS Your not irrational, people are a pain in the **** !!! :rotfl:

    Bellola, congratulations and welcome

I am 19 weeks today, It's been and eventful week for me my OH had an operation on his feet on Wed, discharged the same day but on crutches. I am shattered!! I was so exhausted on Friday that I served him dinner in tears on Friday!!
I think I was really worried about him having the op and then running around after him has just worn me out! He felt so guilty bless him but we have worked a system out and hopefully he will be back on his feet before long.

On the plus side on Saturday night baby kicked so that OH could feel it. It was amazing, hasn't done it since though. Made everything feel so real and exciting :j

Hope you are all doing well

    Hey everyone,

How is everyone getting on? It's very quiet on here. I'm 17 weeks tomorrow, and my 20 week scan is 4 weeks today!

I think I'm starting to feel baby - not proper kicks, but I keep getting a 'churning' feeling in my belly, so think it's having a party in there. It's quite a bizarre feeling.

I keep meaning to sign up to all the baby clubs again, I remember getting lots of freebies and vouchers last time.

    Hope everyone is well.

i know what you mean about quiet I suppose everyone is busying themselves with life and prepping for numb arrival.
I need to sort out baby clubs and get some freebies I've not been doing anything either.

Gosh it is very quiet here. Hope everyone is doing ok.

AFM, 16 week appointment tomorrow morning so hopefully can chase up 20 week scan appointment. Just starting into maternity clothes as trousers getting a bit tight, bit finding i'm not quite big enough for clothes designed for a bump! Lots of bargains to be had on ebay tho which is good. Shops seem to be rather rubbish and sizing tricky for online. Have found that M&S and John Lewis put their maternity clothes in the babywear department! Not getting on with non-underwire bras - they seem to hurt my ribs by the end of the day. Am staying in my well fitting normal bras for now or swapping midway through the day.

Anyone done much shopping yet? Nothing here as we have quite a lot of house stuff to do in the coming weeks before we will have space for anything (or money...). But thoughts turning to which bedside crib to go for and car seats etc.

Hoping the heatwave doesnt make it even harder to sleep. Am glad not commuting at the moment and thinking of you that are.

I know what you mean with maternity clothes, I'm now a bit bigger but to start with I bought some of those maternity bands from new look so I could wear existing trousers with the button undone :-)
I have found it really annoying that most shops dont stock their maternity range in store. I have found H&M to be quite good. I have a pair of trousers coming from ebay too

We want to have work done to the house before baby arrives so not buying too much, am finding bootsales great bought some new and nearly new baby grows, lovely mix of colours 9 for £3 at the weekend, very pleased. Friends are giving us a cot and other friends lending us their moses basket - Very MSE:money:
The pram is going to take some thinking about....

Talking of money saving if anyone is looking for sleep bras (infact I wear them during the day but I am a B/C so can get away with less support) pound shops have some great ones in (Crop top style)

Not yet, I did have it badly with DS though, so am expecting it to appear. You can take indigestion remedies if that helps. I had to munch through the tablets as the texture of the liquid made me sick.

    Hope the appointment goes well!

We don't need to buy much as we still have most of DS's stuff. I'm not going to buy anything else until after the 20wk scan. I don't feel comfortable until then.

I think we just need a new moses basket mattress, and a next stage car seat for DS (baby can have his current one).

We need a bouncy chair, I'm hoping to get one that converts to toddler chair and that's probably it really. I'll be trawling the car boots for things we need.

We have a lot of gender neutral babygrows in bright colours rather than blue, so even if we have a girl, I'll be able to reuse a lot of DS's old clothes.

I will be getting a personalised cloth nappy though!
