If you do any classes, have a chat with the teacher first - ours has been very pro-choice, i.e. not anti medical interventions, but anti unecessary medical interventions, and having the confidence to question stuff. Personally I'm finding that extremely useful.
I'll look into classes now i've spent the minimum on a book to see if it's worth it but they did seem expensive on initial research and there's only so many times I can get to places with OH with our other stuff we need to get done!
I'm anti- unnecessary intervention too but need to get OH a bit more on board with the questioning rather than just accepting as it's policy i think0 -
Ours were about £270 I think - so yes, quite expensive, and a bit of a nuisance to fit in (we go straight from work, which makes for a really long day). However, OH has found them suprisingly helpful too - good for giving them things to do to help, rather than feeling like a spare part, and again for the questioning (he's more the 'accept what he's told' type normally!). Will shut up about it now - don't want to become an evangelist!0

Just delurking to say our hypnobirthing was one full day for £120 and we both loved it. Our teacher was an ex-neo natal nurse so she gave SUCH a balanced view - it was far more about not just assuming, and being prepared for the choices, than being anti them.
It does take commitment though - I've found it tough to remember to do 30-40 mins listening to the tracks each day, but I do found it's really helped and I'm feeling really positive about the birth and my choicesOfficially Mrs B as of March 2013
TTC since Apr 2015, baby B born March 20170 -
No it is really helpful to hear from others. I've actually found the track helped me get myself off to sleep last night too.
There is a local person who does it in a day, privately at home, which might suit us more and not inordinately expensive/ lots of evenings etc so I think we need to discuss it - I'm no good in the evenings and OH is so tired after work so won't want a commitment like that.0 -

WHEN YOU SEE THIS POST DO YOUR PELVIC FLOOR EXERCISES!!!0 -
Glad to see everyone is doing ok.
Firebird see you over on the big thread soonit seems so scary to think I'll be there too in another 2weeks
Baby is defiantly on the move a bit more and I feel them stronger. DH dos get to feel the other day although it was only a couple of big kicks was really nice.
Nursery is being painted on Monday and I want to start putting it together and putting hospital bag stuff in to piles. I like being organised and will probably pack/re-pack a few times :rotfl:
I think nesting might be beginning to kick in (already) as I'm starting giving everywhere a really good clean - although it takes me a while as get surprisingly worn out quick!Christmas is the most magical time of the year :santa2:
Mum to two boys :heartpuls0 -
Newthrift I hope nesting sets in for me soon. We have a series of rooms to sort out before we can decorate the nursery so it's a bit of a task we have ahead of us.
Excitingly, I ordered my pram, car seat and bedside cot yesterday. Can't believe a little baby will be in them soon (well, 20 weeks!)0 -

17+2 today. Had a few movements (I think) but nothing major yet. My sister is five weeks ahead (with a boy!) so I'm jealous of her lovely kicks!
OH is frustrated that he can't feel anything, which I understand but I feel like he's sulking about something that will happen soon anyway. I've started to get a bump over the past week, but still unfortunately looking like I've ate too much / put loads of weight on rather than pregnant!
Also new this week is stretching pains. I'd had the odd bit of cramp in my thigh and thought that was the end of that, but it turns out I was wrong. My pelvis feels really heavy, it hurts to move my legs at all and rolling over in bed is a no-no! Also I'm waking up through the night so many times now, and there doesn't seem to be a reason for it.
My moses basket arrived yesterday and it's absolutely stunning. White and lacy and frilly and exactly what I wanted. Can't wait to see it all set up with a little baby in there!
Hope everyone's pregnancy is going well xxx0 -

If it helps, my OH has only felt one kick, and that was several weeks ago (now 25 weeks)! Baby is mostly active while I'm at work as well, which doesn't really help. Has become much more active over last week or so, so OH has a bit more chance to catch it nowIt's easy to say, but...patience!
My bump has only just over the last week grown and become really obvious - had to make an emergency run to buy maternity trousers last week when I suddenly couldn't do my old work trousers up :rotfl:0 -
I'm now 22 weeks and we haven't managed to get OH to feel anything yet. I however have just spent an hour while my car failed it MOT feeling bean merrily wiggling away.
Bump pretty obvious now- we went to London for the weekend and a chap offered me a seat0
