Slowly fading - primark have a tiny maternity section in some of their bigger stores. I have some comfy and thick enough leggings from there, only £4 so can't complain.
Reluctant to spend too much on maternity clothes but have to buy something!0 -
Glad everyone is doing alright!caitybabes wrote: »Claire_A87 I am jealous of your flutterings and pokes, everyone keeps asking me if I've felt anything yet but I haven't, I'm 18+2. It's my first though and apparently it can be up to 22 weeks.
Caity, I felt like this with my last pregnancy (my first). I ended up feeling things about 18-19 weeks then, but this time have been feeling things since about 15-16 weeks (but I knew what to look for). My advice is go and lie down on your back on the bed for a while. Just relax, focus on your breathing and any sensations you may feel down below. You might feel little "pokes", "twinges" or just a sensation almost as if you have a bubbly tummy? Some people describe it as the feeling you get when you're on a roller-coaster/fallen down a step. It will be worth trying at different points in the day as you'll find baby is active at different times of the day (my baby is most active about 11pm at the moment!) - or maybe once you've had a meal/drink and the sugar kicks in. Really hope this helps.

I first described it to my OH as feeling like I 'had a vibrating fish in my tummy'!, but in the last week it's become more clear pokes. Some days are still really quiet though. I woke up a few times last night vaguely aware of a few pokes, so I think baby just gets more active when I'm asleep. I have also had that 'roller coaster' feeling though - I described it to my OH as being like the feeling when you go over a hill in a car quite fast, and your stomach feels like it drops out; baby rolling maybe?
Very easy for me to say, but don't be concerned by not feeling anything. I appreciate I'm incredibly lucky to have felt anything at all by this point!DS - 08/15

Hi ladies,
Being brave and introducing myself. I just had my scan and my EDD is 5/9 with my second child. I've been off work forever with HG, and still feel quite pants despite being 12+5. Anyone else had it? When did you start to feel better?Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25

Yes, that's precisely it!! That's a far better way of describing it than "roller-coaster". I'm 95% certain it's baby rolling, as I remember with my last pregnancy having my hand on my belly and actually feeling baby roll away from my hand when having that sensation (I think I was 19 weeks then).
Welcome to the thread, twinklie!! :j So sorry to hear you've been suffering so badly with HG. I have been fortunate and not suffered from it, but I am sure that someone will be along shortly who may be able to advise you.

Hi everyone, I'm moving up here from the up to 12 weeks thread. I'm 12 weeks today with an EDD of 11/09/15.
Not feeling too bad now after a rough couple of weeks with morning sickness and exhaustion, so hopefully this is the end of it. I was expecting worse after almost an entire pregnancy of MS with DD (nearly 5 years old).
Question for you all - Is it too soon to start buying things? I didn't get anything this early with DD however I like to make use of the local nearly new sales and they all seem to be either next month (before we know gender, and therefore restricting what we buy) or in October after baby will have arrived! Any thoughts?0 -
Hey muso!
We started getting the odd few things at 14 weeks and this is our first. I started getting anxious about everything we'd need, and we didn't want 1 or 2 months of really high expense further down the line - plus all the baby sales were on! We're team yellow so not going mental with clothes as we'll get specific stuff after the birth.
Glad you're feeling betterI had MS from 7-16 weeks, I felt like a different person once it was over!

Welcome muso!
I have got a couple of Bits since the 12 weeks scan but nothing major. Just a few bits of neutral clothing with giraffes on. I love giraffes and finding it on neutral stuff I just couldn't resist. I also got a christmas jumper size 3-6 months in the sainsburys sale for £1.50, bargain! Someone from work got me the johnsons baby box as a gift which was sweet. It's all stashed away in the spare room. Will think about bigger stuff after twenty weeks. Which is only a months away. Although if the buggy goes on offer with the car seat before then I may be tempted.
Lots of talk from work colleagues about my lack of a bump. I'm 16 weeks with my first and am tall so have a long torso. I'm forever explaining that it's normal. I'm still in my normal trousers which I'm very pleased about. Hoping the maternity clothes can stay in the cupboard a while longer.
No doubt as soon as bump arrives it will be massive/tiny and judged no end. You can't win.
Got asked for ID in aldi today buying booze and food for a dinner party. I'm 29 next month so it made me day.
Hope everyone is well and symptoms are abating.0 -
Thanks pm04gn and Claire! I think I may go with a couple of things in mind that should be easy to find in neutral colours. Not planning on spending too much generally as I bought so much for DD and none of it was used very much.0

I am a bigger lady (size 18 pre preg) and with my first I wasn't noticeably pregnant to those outside of close friends and family until about 24 weeks! Which was great as I am self employed and I was worried about all of my students jumping ship the minute they found I would need time off. Instead I was able to wait to tell them and keep my business running smoothly. I even had a neighbour (that I didn't speak to often) come up to me at about 36 weeks pregnant and say "my dear, are you expecting?"!
This time round it's already feeling different. Since about 7 weeks I've been uncomfortable in my regular clothes, and although I haven't actually gotten any bigger (in fact I've lost weight) my shape has totally changed. It's like everything is being pushed upwards and I have a little domed bit at the top of my stomach!0
