Yeah hypnobirthing can only be positive can't it? I really enjoy yoga so I'm thinking its an extension of that, it'll be a good tool to have in the whole birthing prep plan0

Hey all. My partner is 20 weeks and very recently started to feel the babies first movements for the past week or so. Today she mentioned that she never felt anything the entire day and is concerned. Should she be? We have a scan next week and I've tried to reassure her but she's upset.0

Hi everyone, hope you are all well.
I have a bit of a strange question for you!
I have a few itchy spots on my body over the last dew days (wouldn't say it's a rash). They are starting to drive me nuts! They settled down after a bath last night but itching again this morning. They started mainly over my breasts but have noticed a couple around my neck, chest, back and upper thighs. I first noticed it on Tuesday when I was a bit hot and stressed in work. I've had things like this before, kind of hive like, but a little more concerned about it during pregnancy.
Has anyone else experiences this? I am 23 weeks tomorrow.
I'm not sure if i should be going to see my GP or maybe if I should call the midwife?
Andrew, yes, you should call the midwife regarding things like this. I got given an information leaflet at my last midwife appointment regarding movement during pregnancy. No two people will be the same but if you have concerns you should call.0 -
Hi Andrew. I have been feeling movement every day and then I got an excruciating pain under my bump a few days ago and then felt no movement for about a day.
But we have a doppler (you can get them for £20 online) so I used this and straight away you could hear his heart beat, really strong.
I would really recommend getting one for peace of mind. At 20 weeks it should be easy to pick up the heartbeat (we've been using ours successfully since before 10 weeks).0 -
What are folks general thoughts on Dopplers? For those who have one, does it cause panic when you any find a heartbeat?0
-
Hey april. I loved mine for the time between scans and feeling movement - however I have to say I could never not find the heartbeat so don't know how I would have felt...
Clara - please do call the midwife, I'm sure it's nothing but worst case you've wasted 5 mins on a phone call xxOfficially Mrs B as of March 2013

Thanks Cats, I opted for that in the end. Got an answering machine so have left a message awaiting a call back!
Normally I wouldn't bother about trivial things like this, I'd maybe take an allergy tablet or something and keep it until it's better! I'm just not sure what I'm allowed to take or use to relive the itch or if it's even pregnancy related!0 -
She phoned and I just explained that I'm not even sure it's pregnancy related and she said I could take some antihistamine for the itch and that was basically it. If it gets any worse I'll go see my GP xx0
