My ebay spree has all arrived. Generally my dresses all fit OK, although obviously are still quite loose. But my jeans and trousers are still way too big, so going to stick with normal trousers for now.
My best friends mum saw me earlier, and without knowing (or being able to see bump as someone was sat in between us) asked if I was expecting- friend had warned me her mum is infamous for being able to see it from someone's face. I have no idea how...
Maybe you have the pregnancy glow :j
My original appointment was the 9th Jan but the hospital rang me to rearrange it for a day that the consultant works, hence now the 4th. I have to see the consultant as we were on holiday when I found out and there is slight concern for Zika Virus. I have read that the later they do the scan the better it is for being able to check all the things are developing OK.
Received the blood screening results in the post and I am low risk, thankfully they arrived pretty quickly.
Hi Scottish Lassie & ClaraBell :wave:0 -
I definitely don't think I am glowing, but a colleague said she'd noticed it in my face a couple of weeks ago. Very strange.
We're also under the consultant as there's family history of cleft palate. I'm feeling a bit nervous about my screening results, I can now see why some choose not to have it. We were told we'd hear at the beginning of this week if we're high risk (I think by phone) or get a letter and the end of the week if we're low risk.0 -
Hi guys, had my scan this morning and now measuring at 12+3. I can finally get it into my head its real. Booked our sexing scan as I'm so impatient, so I get to have another peek next month, which I'm already counting down the days till then.0

Hi ladies,
Yeah I'm so impatient for my next scan, got a definite bump now. Its really low down though, I always thought it would be more around the belly button but it still just looks like I ate too much. It feels firmer now though so I know its not just from eating loads more food:rotfl:0 -
Glad your scan went well April! That's good that you will get another peek of your wee one before your next hospital scan!
We saw our little button today, so happy that it behaved and everything could be checked and marked as complete - all looking great and it was being cheeky and turning away from us and putting hands over it's face!
Feels a lot more real now, especially since I am having a lot more movement
Vanilla, so glad your results came back OK and hope you hear back with your results soon Penguin xx0 -
Glad your scan went well clara.
We've not heard anything screening-wise so assuming good news. Told a lot of people at work now which is nice, and the reactions are interesting. A couple have said they had guessed (some a couple of months ago), and it amazes me how many people ask if it was planned. Surely that is just rude?0 -
Hi Penguingirl,
Yeah that's really rude! There was a lady in my work who got asked by a colleague whether her pregnancy was planned and I've been preparing myself for this said person asking me the same question but so far they haven't said anything! I keep trying to think of something really sarcastic to say.... but haven't thought of it yet! ;-)
On a side note has anyone considered hypnobirthing classes? - think we're going to sign up after we've had our scan.....0 -
Thanks Clara, can't wait for another peek
Glad your scan went well.
Scottish I am looking into hypnobirthing, I saw there had been a thread started about it recently. My personal trainer also teaches hypnobirthing so she's sent me loads of stuff on it recently, she's also recommended reading a book on it, Hypnobirthing: The Mongan Method by Marie Mongan. Purchased it today so will get reading it as soon as its delivered.0 -
Just delurking to say I'm doing hypnobirthing. Class isn't til Jan though as it's obviously mainly birth preparation, so I was recommended to do it after 30 weeks
doing reading and yoga in the meantime though x
Officially Mrs B as of March 2013
TTC since Apr 2015, baby B born March 20170 -
I'm lurking in preparation for moving over..
I have a cousin who has two daughter in laws who are expecting (one this Saturday, the other next Friday!). She went to hypobirthing classes as a support to one of them and they have absolutely loved it. I have no idea how they will find the birth, but I will let you know if they let me know0
