I've found asda to be a good fit and not too expensive either. a friend has suggested matalan too so might have a look at their website later!

Ive ordered a washing net bag so I can put all of baby's clothes in there before into the machine as I dont want to be losing socks before she's here lol!

if any of you are a small 16 I have a pair of over the bump new look jeggings if you want them? they are too small for me (got them off ebay) and I really cant be bothered to take photos and list them etc! its strange really as asda size 16 is a great fit for me!

have any of you decided if you are buying a maternity coat? I've had a look around but I cant see any I really like (and they are stupidly expensive!) Im thinking of just buying a normal coat but a size or 2 bigger

I went to ASDA this morning and managed to find a nice pair of wide-legged black crepe trousers with an elasticated waistband in their non-maternity clothes. They were only £14 and long enough on me that I should be able to pull them up over my bump for a while yet. :)

Not sure what I'll do for a coat newcook - been worried about that myself too.
Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.

so, I'm off on my little worry box again! normally I get a kicking when I get into bed at night but last night I didnt. I know its probably nothing to worry about and that there shouldnt be a regular pattern until after 24 weeks etc but I still worry!
its really odd though - usually I am the most laid back person who doesn't worry or fret, the ultimate optimist! however growing a little person inside me has made me overthink every little thing from the temperature of my bath water to my sleeping position at night!

to help put my mind at rest I've just ordered a doppler (£20 amazon - bargain!)

    how is everyone today?!

I'm glad she moved for you newcook - what a relief. Which doppler did you get newcook? I'm considering getting one as this time around my DH is missing all the midwife appointments where you hear the heartbeat, so it would be nice for me to be able to surprise him by getting one. Let me know if it's any good. I'm 17 weeks tomorrow, so I know that it can be harder to pick up the heartbeat at this stage anyway, and don't want to worry myself unnecessarily if I can't find it.

I went over to my Mum's today, and she told me that I'm definitely looking pregnant now. Don't know how long I'll be able to hide it from work as I thought the clothes I'd picked out today (non-maternity pre-pregnancy ones) were much more flattering, but then I suppose my Mum has the added advantage that she knows I'm pregnant already. Other people may just assume I've put on a little weight at this stage and be too embarrassed to say anything. lol I just don't want work giving me less assignments in the run up to the qualifying week for SMA, as my average earnings will be a lot lower, so would rather delay telling them until I really need to.

its called angel sounds fetal doppler and comes with earphones, gel, cables for pc/laptop and you can record it too.

I've promised OH I wont use it until the weekend and we can properly listen together as he works nights so mornings and evenings are always a rushed time for us but I'll let you know how I get on with it as at £20.99 I think its a bargain for extra peace of mind!

I remember you saying before that you were worried about work giving you less assignments - is ti possible to try and get a fixed term contract somewhere for 6 months so you know you will have a definite income?

Thanks for the info - I look forward to hearing what you think of it newcook.

Sadly I can't work full time as my little boy only goes to nursery in the mornings. Also if I were working full time (I'm a primary school teacher) I'd be expected to do all of the planning etc which would be too much for me.

  • I've got an AngelSounds doppler - found the heartbeat at 15 weeks I think? It's SO noisy trying to move it around to find the baby though so be careful of that and if you laugh or wriggle it'll deafen you/your OH if they're trying to listen! :D

I've been using the AngelSounds doppler since about 11 weeks I think. It's fab! We used to use it once a week before we felt kicking, now I only really use it if I'm having a panic and need a little reassurance. The gel you get with it is tiny, think we used most of it the first time we used the doppler, but you can buy full sized bottles for a couple of pound on Amazon. Also recommend you plug it into speakers to avoid getting deafened through the earphones!

doppler arrived! its smaller than I thought it would be!!

OH got in from work about 6am and said it had been a horrible night - so suggested we get the doppler out to cheer him up! I've never seen him run down the stairs so fast lol!

its easy enough to use but definitely deafening while trying to find the heartbeat! its worth it though - so reassuring.

had terrible heartburn last night - I'd just gotten nice and comfy in bed too! ah well, at least its friday and I can have a little lie in tomorrow morning!

think a pamper night is in order for me later - hair mask, face mask, bubble bath and manicure. I think I might even treat myself to a takeaway!
