I was told no full bladder needed too at my appointment 2 weeks ago xMancMama4 (35) TTC since Apr 15, MMC Dec 15, Our Rainbow Baby Charlie arrived Dec 16 :heart2:0

My letter doesn't say you need a full bladder (but 12 week scan letter did) but I did a google search last week and the advice was really mixed. I think it completely depends on the area/hospital. I think I'm going to sip water while I'm waiting for the scan but not go in bursting for the loo like I did at my last scan. That way it won't be empty, but won't be too full either.0

Full bladder wasn't needed for 20 week scan here. I'd had a drink beforehand but didn't have any extra.0

Think I'm going to do this too. I presume if it was a requirement it would have been on the letter like it was for the 12 scan.0 -
Hi all!
God knows where all these weeks are going - they are absolutely flying by!!
so, we had our 16 week check up and heard babys heartbeart - it was absolutely amazing!!
the following day we had our private gender scan and found out we are having a little girl!!!! we have our 20 week scan next monday so get to see her again!
she's already becoming a spoilt little madam with family buying all sorts of stuff!
one of my friends finally had her baby after being overdue for 8 days! she had to be induced and was in labour for 36 hours - I said to our bump that she'd best not get any ideas like that!!!0 -
Aww congratulations on your little lady newcook, how exciting for you! Glad all is well.
I am at the hospital again as we speak getting checked over after another tiny bleed... baby seems fine but my cervical ectropian has flared up again... all very worrying to see at the time but thankfully nothing that will harm the baby. Just waiting to be sent home XxMancMama4 (35) TTC since Apr 15, MMC Dec 15, Our Rainbow Baby Charlie arrived Dec 16 :heart2:0 -
glad everything is ok mancmama4 - have they said whats causing it or how it can stop happening? it must be terrifying for you!0

Yay for the good news newcook. Will you be less than 20 weeks on Monday then or were they later with your 16 week appointment? How lovely you get to see your little girl again so soon. Xx
Mancmama that must have been so worrying for you. I'm glad everything was OK in the end and there's no risk to the baby.
I'm just back from my consultant appointment. It was good news here too as there were no signs of any skull abnormality this time and the baby was really active too which means there's less chance of any nerve damage. We lost Poppy due to a neural tube defect which is why there was such a focus on the skull this time. The consultant was so pleased that he won't see me now until 32 weeks (just before Christmas) and he's also said my little boy can come to watch that scan which is lovely too. My 20 week scan is on 22nd September.Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things.I married Moon 8/4/2011, baby boy born 26/9/2012, Angel Baby Poppy born 8/11/15, Rainbow baby boy born 11/2/20170 -
Sounds very scary mancmama. Glad all is ok now. Hope you get off home soon.
Glad your scan went well sexymouse.
I am now definitely over the time for this thread, 26+1 today! The app I use welcomed me to the 3rd trimester yesterday  seemed to have missed out on the extra energy you're supposed to get in the 2nd! Time seems to be going very quickly.
Hope everything goes well for everyone still on this thread. :heart2:0 -
I will be exactly 20 weeks monday - the 16 week checkup was done a week late as the midwife didnt have any appointments left!0
