Almost everyone said baby was a boy from our twelve week scan pic but they were wrong definitely a girl and confirmed at our anomaly scan yesterday, fortunately everything looking fine.
We've hired our doula and bought crib, bouncer, play mat and loads of clothes. We've booked into NHS antenatal sessions as they are free. Midwife and consultant appointments next week, joy!
Did anyone else have extreme tiredness around 21/22 weeks? I'm seriously struggling
Very happily married on 10th April 2013

We have lots of potential girls names but only one for a boy!
The other day OH was worried saying she wasn't sure about the name anymore. We can't call the baby by a name that we've only chosen because we couldn't think of anything else!
So she wanted at least two more names so we had a choice and could decide when we knew what felt right, maybe when we see him.
So on a long car journey we went through almost every boys name imaginable. I started just saying things we drove past, like Ripon or Petrol. She decided she loved the name Bobkins?!
We like old fashioned English names for boys. But our girls list contains names from all over. Especially Italy with OH being 3/4 Italian.
Anyway we ended up with three names that we thought we liked. But still decided we prefer the original name we came up with!Mortgage remaining: £42,260 of £77,000 (2.59% til 03/18 - 2.09% til 03/23)

We had a girl's names we loved for years, but it's become too popular so we went through loads of names a few weeks ago and I googled alternative but similar names to our favourite name and found a very similar one which we both agreed on and I really like it. I have an unusual name, oh has a very common name but he didn't want our baby to have a really common name.
So far as we haven't told many people we have had many guesses, but my sister thinks a girl and my good friend thinks a boy. I can see myself with a girl more than a boy, but that's because I have three sisters and most my cousins are girls, but I'll be happy with either.
Can't believe it's only Wednesday, I'm sure it should be Friday by now!!
Hope everyone is ok.xx0 -
We picked one girl and one boy name. Took forever to decide on them. He didn't like a lot I said and I didn't like his.
I said "he" all along. I was so certain it was a boy. Surprised like crazy that it's a girl. I don't mind whichever. After losing, to get any is perfect. So I really wouldn't have minded either way. But still waiting til after the second gender scan to start buying anything blue or pink or decorating the nursery. Just to be 100% sure. We always said we would have the 20 week scan and a private gender scan as a second opinion anyway.
Feeling human again finally after the chest infection. Antibiotics seem to have done their job. If only there were magic tables that would stop the bottom of my back hurting so much!Book a week challenge: 11/52. Competitions won in 2021: 120 -
Glad you're feeling better Crazy.
We've seen quite a few girls names we like but really struggling with boys!0 -
Thank you
I know. I thought boys were more of a struggle. I had a name I really liked, until we were in a supermarket and there was a boy with that name being a real nightmare and his poor mum was screeching his name at the top of her voice. Lost some of the appeal.
I never really thought about it before, but it is a hell of a job picking a name. One you like and they will like. My brother, who was originally called Darren (seems odd to even say that name now), never liked his name and when he was in his early 20s, had it legally changed to Alex. I never thought how Mum felt about it. But now we are thinking about names I know I'd be quite hurt if my child did something like that.Book a week challenge: 11/52. Competitions won in 2021: 120 -
Glad you are feeling better now crazy cat lady.
We found and agreed on a boys name much easier than a girl's name! We are the same, we tried for so long to get this far plus a mmc on the way that as long as baby is healthy that is all that matters.
We have two very close family members getting married next year, probably within a month of each other, I saw the cutest baby outfits that would be perfect for a wedding today, just need to find out if we need a boy or girl outfit now!!:D
Had some deliveries come from next today, got a dress that is really comfy and perfect as an everyday work dress, some under the bump jeans and some non maternity but very comfy non wired bras!! Very pleased with my purchases.0 -
Quote came back for the garage conversion and kitchen...
So it looks like we'll get the conversion bit done and then I'll do the kitchen. Get some units from IKEA or somewhere.
It's tricky because ideally we'd just get some to match what we've got. However they're old units from a random manufacturer so we're stuck having a mismatch or having to replace the lot.
OH is getting bad headaches (tension rather than migraine) she's had a headache of varying severity for several days now. She's also uncomfortable sleeping which won't be helping. Not sure if that's a cause or symptom of the headache...but she's getting sore neck.
Tried different positions with pillows and things. Her tummy felt better last night but head and neck still uncomfortable. Also need to get some larger size pyjama bottoms (she doesn't like nighties) her tops are fine but the trousers are too tight.Mortgage remaining: £42,260 of £77,000 (2.59% til 03/18 - 2.09% til 03/23)
