Last night I was feeling quite down about not having much movement yet. I'm 23+5 and have felt pops for a few weeks and possibly one kick but then though I imagined it cos I hadn't felt another. So I googled "no kicks at 23 weeks" and whomp all of a sudden I had 3 in a row!!! :D Had a couple more today too.

That's a really nice pushchair flutter, and such a good price, it's a shame there is no car base option or I would be considering it.

ThinkPink - There are some base options...from their website:

you require a base then we suggest buying the 2 in 1 (stroller and carrycot package). http://uberchild.com/uberchild-evo/uberchild-evo-2-in-1-travel-system-orange-flower.html Then also buy the maxi cosi adapters http://uberchild.com/uberchild-evo/uberchild-evo-adapters-for-maxi-cosi-cabriofix-mico-car-seats.html
Then with the above you can purchase a maxi cosi car seat and base elsewhere. Then the maxi cosi car seat will click onto the EVO frame using the above adapters. You then have a system which looks like this: http://uberchild.com/uberchild-evo/uberchild-evo-travel-system-inc-maxi-cosi-cabriofix-and-base-rainbow-spots-64.html

We are just going to strap it in I think, if it is a pain I will get a base.

Oh that's really useful to know, I'll keep that in mind when it comes to the actual buying. At the moment I'm looking at the ickle bubba stomp v3, it's £450 all in including the isofix base so that's the one I need to see if there are any local stockists. The other one I'm looking at is a mamas and papas one, I think it's a sola or something, but that's more money so I need to see if it is worth the extra money. I'll be waiting for my scan on the 29th before ordering anything though, as firstly I want to be sure all is ok and secondly if we find out what we are having I would go for a colour to match the gender (oh has put his foot down though at pink for a girl so I would go for red!!)

Rinroo, I personally will be waiting till I start actually look at returning, I may indicate to my manager my intentions (I want to work three days a week) before I go on maternity leave, but won't ask formally till I'm looking at returning (a flexible working request should be resolved with 3 months I think) as you never know how things may change at in a year, ie for all I know oh may change jobs and we won't be able to afford me to reduce my hours etc so I would rather apply to reduce my hours towards the end of my maternity leave.

Yes, I think I will do the same. Sat at my desk now sulking - first day back blues.

I'm currently trying to write my formal letter of Mat leave but minds drawing a blank.

Rinroo - I just used this template from Which, but added/changed what I needed to. I was told by HR to send letter. When they received letter they emailed to say I needed to fill out a form , useless!!

    Hello everyone,

We just got a letter through the post from NHS. So we assumed it was results from the NT and blood test screening.

But it is an ultrasound appointment letter for a week on Wednesday (15 1/2 weeks pregnant) with the consultant.

We were a bit panicky at first thinking there must be something wrong. But it doesn't say anything about the screening tests and they said we'd hear within 2 days if there had been bad news with that.

It's with the same consultant who did our second scan to confirm anencephaly with our first pregnancy.

So we're assuming it's an extra check with the consultant to ensure everything is as it should be. OH remembered the Midwife had mentioned the possibility of an extra scan but that we hadn't heard anything more about it so assumed we were just waiting for the 16 week midwife appointment and then 20 weeks scan.

Well it gave us a bit of a fright and obviously OH is now having a bit of a worry that something could be wrong. But I think it is just an extra check.

It's good if it means we get to see baby again sooner. I was only asking her the other day if she wanted to have a private scan before the 20 week just to break the time up a bit more!

It just means she is currently under consultant led care after your loss last time so is unlikely to be 'allowed' to go to a birthing unit without a consultant/midwife led unit.. thats all.. They send me too.. I just don't go.

The stuff they do there is all done by the midwife exactly the same as any other antenatal appointment and you get 15 seconds with the registrar usually and if all is looking boring and routine she may well just be discharged from consultant care .. they don't send you letters about stuff you should be concerned about they ring you!!

It's really all perfectly routine and ordinary!

Well, now I'm !!!!ed off. Went to my anti natal class for labour today - I'm not happy the midwife wouldn't tell me the side effects of the drugs they used and kept saying it would be whatever the doctor prescribed. I don't think so. My hubby took an hour off work and it was so useless. I feel so bad, it's basically all the stuff I told him to read in the book I got anyways.

Well at least they are nearly done. Tomorrow is breastfeeding so that should be interesting, I'm planning on getting a lactation consultant anyway.
