    Hi ladies!

Hope you all had a good Christmas and New Year's! I fell asleep way before midnight on New Year's lol

16w+1 here and got my next midwife appointment on Wednesday morning. Going to ask if she will use the Doppler, but won't get my hopes up in case she says no.

Christmas for us was lovely, at MIL's house :)

My parents came for a visit inbetween Xmas and New Year's but brought a cold with them. It was all horrid and awkward, as they hadn't really thought about passing on germs to me, and then ended up staying in a hotel instead. Bleurgh. Dad's still ill, bless him, (it's been 3 weeks in total now) and hubby has now come down with the cold. Just keeping my fingers crossed I don't catch it now.

We're going to visit in late January, so we can actually spend some quality time together without anyone being ill, which is what I think should have happened in the first place.

As for buying bits, I know MIL has bought a few bits, and my Mum bought some neutral babygrows etc, as she couldn't resist them lol. She also brought with her some bits that my sister passed on - steriliser, one of those little bouncy chair things (not sure what they're called), and we're considering getting a 'Next to Me' crib. Oh, and some family friends knitted us our first baby blanket!! :) The way we look at it is, even if it did all go wrong, we'd try again and still need the stuff then anyway. Plus, we really need to spread the cost out as much as possible.

    Hope everyone is well xxx

lulu - congrats, 2 girls how lovely! are they identical or non identical twins do you know?

euronorris - I used Medela Swing pump last time and it was worth every penny. Expressing is hard work as it is so anything that will make it easier is worth it in my book. I sold my last one for about £45-£50 so really it only cost me about £30 as I got a good deal (£80ish I think). I sold is as I wanted to make sure I got some money back for it and thought if I ever had another baby there would probably be a newer better version of it out (there isn't! Typical!). Though I might consider a double pump this time...one I need to think about.

12-14 weeks went slowly for me but suddenly 15 weeks sounds reasonably far on and the midwife appointment is just around the corner.

Hope all are well and had a nice Christmas x

    Hey ladies,

Happy New Year. Hope you all had a great time. I spent Hogmanay with family and friends at a party and didn't get come until 4am on the 1st. Latest I have been out for months. Only just catching up on sleep now. Back to work today!

I am 17+5 today and just plodding along. Counting down the days until our scan on the 21st and then I have a week off at the start of February as we are having our kitchen fitted.

4am?! Wow! I salute you Toots! I fell asleep well before midnight, and then got woken up at midnight by the neighbours fireworks. I was proper grumpy about it too and had to fight the urge to open the window and scream at them to shutup! lol Thankfully, I bit my tongue!

I bought the Medela pump last night. Hubby was very sweet and just said 'whatever you need, we'll get it'. Bless him. So it's being delivered to the local Waitrose today and we can then go and pick it up tonight. Stupidly excited about our first baby related purchase. Not exactly something I can shout from the rooftops though 'Wahoo! I bought a breast pump!' haha

Oh, has anyone had leaky boobs early on in pregnancy? Sorry for TMI, but I woke up with a patch of dry white stuff on my right boob this morning! I'm assuming that I leaked a little colostrum or something. Am 16w+2.

On it like a car bonnet! hahaha

Next up is the Next to Me crib by Chicco. Everywhere seems to sell it for the same price. But.....Boots have a 10% off over a £100 spend that expires tonight, dropping it to £134.99. Plus, I signed up for the parenting club, meaning I'll earn £14.90 in points, dropping the price to £120.09. Plus free delivery. Plus it comes with a free Comfort & Harmony sleeping bag at the moment.

Topcashback and quidco do offer cashback for Boots baby stuff, but you can't use any other voucher codes, unless they are advertised/approved on Topcashback/quidco, which the 10% code is not (found it on HUKD). The 10% discount is considerably higher than the 2.5%, so I'm going for that.

Hubby's Dad sent us some money for Christmas and baby, so just gonna check with hubby first that he's happy to get this crib and then will order tonight :)

  • Happy New Year everyone!!!

Well I bit the bullet and have been buying things (trying not to go wild) we have now got the Tommee Tippee sterlizer kit and bottle making kit which were half price and a couple of neutral coloured baby grows that were half price.

I am now in a dilemma about the Pram, we went to look at some today and now have our (my) heart set on the Silvercross Pioneer one, at the moment it has a free car seat with it which is £140 to buy on its own. Arghhh what to do!!!!!

I bought the doppler that Gelly recommended on the earlier thread, it arrived this morning and we found baby's heartbeat straight away.... queue more tears!I am an emotional wreck!

17 weeks tomorrow... where has the time gone?
