Everything was well with the scan yesterday. Babies are perfect and we got to see faces so clearly!
We also found out we're having two girls! So surprised but very excited!
Full of cold today. My boss keeps calling it the flu but I would hope that 3 weeks between the flu jab and now means it's not!
Glad all was well and clear for you0 -

I've been looking at electric breast pumps too. Online reviews seem to suggest that the Medela Swing is a good one, but it's pretty pricey. Maybe it'll be in the January sales too.
We haven't really bought anything yet either. My sister has passed some stuff onto my Mum to bring up with her when she visits, including a body pillow, chair, some bottles, steriliser etc etc. And my parents want to buy the pram. DH's Mum has been buying little bits and pieces ever since she found out.
Oh, and last night was lovely. DH's Dad called and is now getting super excited about being a granddad! He didn't seem too fussed when we first told him. I think he was in shock, but he's really excited now
Yes i was a size 8 petite to begin with so i am feeling quite big. Its just my belly really, my bust is still the same size, ive always been small in that region. Cant wait for them to get bigger lol. Probably be the last thing hey.
The medela swing pumps do have great reviews but too pricey for me. Especially as im not sure if i will be using it for long or at all. People say breast feeding is quite painful so it scares me a little but only you know what your pain threshold is like so i am going to give it a go.
Im glad your dh dad is excited now, probably was shock. My parents have been abroad for 3 months and come back in couple days, so cant wait to give them good news and show them all the scan pictures. I am giving scan pictures to my dh family with a coloured bow stuck on them on christmas day. Dont want to say the sex in case they read this lol.0 -

Oh I remember when I was a size 8. I'd been very good with my eating, and exercising and felt amazing. Then we had to move back in with my parents for a while and all of my favourite treats were always in the house....sigh. Willpower went right out of the window then! lol
I'm not sure about the pain thing. First baby for me too. My SIL never had an issue with it, but I know others who have. So, like you say, maybe it's down to pain threshold. There can be other issues too. My niece was delivered by emergency C-section and then the doctors suctioned the .......can't remember what it's called, but it was suctioned out of her mouth. Only, it got stuck on the roof of her mouth and they caused a large, rather painful, blood blister which meant she had awful trouble latching on so my sister ended up bottle feeding her instead.
You just have to go with the flow at the time I think.February wins: Theatre tickets0 -
Congratulations lulu, glad all was well at the scan!
Khal/euro, if you want to BF check out the support services in your area before baby comes, so you know where to go and get help if it is very sore. I fed my DD exclusively, and I won't lie, for the first few weeks it was sore at the start of every feed, but settled after about 30 seconds. Pain that continues throughout feeds is not right and always needs checking out. People try to soldier on I think, as they've got the idea that it's normal for it to hurt, until it gets so bad that they give up.
I also wouldn't go crazy with buying loads of bottles, as baby might not take to them, or you might end up like me with a set of bottles that never really got used! I had an Ameda lactaline pump, which was amazing, but pricey. I had a huge stash of milk in the freezer when I went back to work, for DD to have at nursery. I'll use the pump again this time though and it's been lent around my family in between DD and this baby, so it's had plenty of use!Little monkey born November 2012:jFroglet due March 20160 -

I didn't think it was flu either, although my boss was insistent (although fine to keep me in the office..!!).Our Rainbow Twins born 17th April 2016

Thanks LittleMoog, that's really useful. I'll see what I can find in the local area.
I haven't bought any bottles yet, but MIL couldn't resist getting some and my sister is sending up some Dr Brown ones that they no longer use (I assume they are too small now as her youngest is almost 8 months).February wins: Theatre tickets0 -
Bosses are weird like that sometimes. Then they'll complain that everyone else comes down with it. You can't win!
I'm very lucky with mine actually. One of my colleagues came in this morning and has been vomiting all night, so I sent her home and said I'd speak to boss, don't worry. No one wants a vomiting bug right before Christmas. Boss agreed, and then sent another team member home as she didn't want him to even chance catching it as his BIL has leukaemia and they'll be seeing him over Christmas. She asked me if I wanted to go home too, to avoid the risk, but I said I'd be fine and opted to disinfect all the areas that colleague touched etc instead, open windows for a bit etc etc.
Never had a boss like that before. I know how lucky I am in that respect. Quite hormonal today, and had to have a word with myself to stop myself from crying! lolFebruary wins: Theatre tickets0 -
Lulu that is so exciting, 2 girls, glad everything went well.
Had my 16 week appointment with midwife today, was literally over in 5 minutes. Urine is fine, blood pressure lower than last time but not a cause for concern and they are booking parent craft classes for us to go to in May. See the midwife again on 3rd February. That was all it was and I was out the door!0
