Rampant Recycler I've been Money Tipped!
The only thing I've bought is a pack of 5 babygros from Boots. The girl I work with who is pg started buying at 11 weeks!

btw, Boots have this great sale on and you can pay with points, so my babygros were free!

  • Thanks for the replies, I was looking at the sterilizer and bottles which are half price now, I know we will def be buying them so I am in two minds at buying them now (otherwise we will be looking at over £100) think I may bite the bullet.

With my first my mum insisted on buying the nursery furniture way before my 20 week scan, I wasn't too keen but couldn't control her. We did put a deposit on the pram but on the basis that we could get our money back.

Lulu that sucks no wonder you're disappointed. My outlaws are terrible when it comes to measure made their son leave home and marry me.
  • lulu - congrats, 2 girls how lovely! are they identical or non identical twins do you know?

euronorris - I used Medela Swing pump last time and it was worth every penny. Expressing is hard work as it is so anything that will make it easier is worth it in my book. I sold my last one for about £45-£50 so really it only cost me about £30 as I got a good deal (£80ish I think). I sold is as I wanted to make sure I got some money back for it and thought if I ever had another baby there would probably be a newer better version of it out (there isn't! Typical!). Though I might consider a double pump this time...one I need to think about.

12-14 weeks went slowly for me but suddenly 15 weeks sounds reasonably far on and the midwife appointment is just around the corner.

Hope all are well and had a nice Christmas x

khal327, just popping over from the next thread. I had a GTT at 28 weeks purely based on my BMI which puts me in the high risk group. Mine started really early in the morning, around 7.30. They take some blood samples and then give you a drink. It tastes kind of orangey, and is really sweet. You have to finish the whole thing in a few minutes. You then sit around for a couple of hours, and then they do the blood test again. You cant really do much in between the blood tests, so I took my laptop and did some work in the waiting room. Take a book or something to keep you occupied. Results came back in a couple of days. I also got my flu jab done whilst I was there. As I am rhesus negative, I had to have my anti-D within 48 hours of the GTT (no idea why the timing matters, but it needed doing at 28 weeks anyway) so had to go back for that a couple of days later.

    Hope this helps.

Hey, Thanks very much for taking time out to let me know what to expect. Really appreciate it. I will make sure to take something to read:)

I have also been on the hunt for a travel system. Think i will be opting for the Mothercare roam travel system. Its £249 at the moment and when i tried in store it was quite lightweight including the car seat. I have also brought a blanket , changing bag, vests , cot bedding and will be ordering some sleepsuits from Mothercare this weekend. All starting to come together now.

oh and a sleeping bag from boots , it was £5 in sale and thought it was worth a try although not to sure about it. Anyone give me any feedback on the sleeping bags. Are they any good?

We love sleeping bags, my daughter still won't stay in one place in her cot so we know she's always snuggly.

Am I the only one fed up when you get told, oh you've got ages to go as if you're only 4 weeks pregnant?

Khal with our first we went with the joie chrome travel system, it was well priced and we've no complaints with it.

We're heading to kiddicare today to look at double pushchairs as they have the three we're looking at in stock, nowhere else has. Good job our daughter is a good traveller as its an hour and a half away.
