  • Hi All,
Phew! Just sat down with a cuppa and finally having a bite of lunch.
    Managed today:
Dogs walked before anything else gets done
    Empty dishwasher.
Ordered two Christmas gifts online - sounds easy, but didn't think I would find these particular books, so well pleased.
Two phone calls to elderly relatives.
Strip bed, wash all bedding and remake = hoover mattress and rest of room.
Wash 3 x loads during the course of the day. Hang up to dry - put rest in tumbler.
Finish off cards and wrap the presents that will be going this weekend.
Pop to Post Office in next village and post cards and one present.
Strip out the chicken house and scrub floors and perches with hot water and Jeyes fluid. Dry and then put back together with new bedding.
Large pile of ironing, speed ironed and put away. Socks paired up too!!
Just about to start dinner prep. I am eating out but need to take care of the workers!!!
If I have time or energy after that, I might dust my sitting room and hoover, otherwise that will be held over for tomorrow.

  • Hi - quick update - finally got home after Cs at 2!!!

Been shopping in M n Co outlet and then to buy present for DH's boss in Aldi as well as more fruit. Just started part 2 of chocolate truffle torte - I haven't eaten chocolate for nearly 25 years - My name is .... and I was a chocaholic - but the smell of this Al*I 70% is divine!! Hope it turns out well - supposed to whisk the rest of cream with a balloon whisk but I don't have one so it's the trusty hand mixer.

No flying done but must do tree 2 later. Catch up tomorrow.
    Thinking of you later Dusty.

Well we have a diagnosis; as they suspected it is adhesions between various bits of intestine 25years after he had abdominal surgery following a road accident. Apparently scar tissue has built up over the years and is currently causing constriction. Still trying various treatment; they don't want to operate as that will risk more adhesions. Various details not suitable for people about to eat their tea. I feel so helpless, sorry for him as it is so uncomfortable, and so frightened.

Just got back from hosp, time for a cup of tea then going to pick up MIL so she can visit him.

How are things with you Dusty?

I have managed to post the last of the Christmas cards after ages of panic when I lost my list - in the realm of things not important but you know how your mind gets obsessed when you're stressed - I searched for hours for the poxy list then found it.
I have also done one flower arrangement for the wedding and know what I will do for the other one tomorrow.

    cheers to all.

Sending lots of love, hugs and warm wishes to all those flyladies and their families who are having a rough time at the moment. I really hope it will improve very soon.

Busy day again today. DD to work at preschool, quick shop, varnished the bathroom window frame, then into town for Christmas shopping. I treated myself to coffee in favourite cafė, before collecting DD.

Second coat of varnish done, and I have also vacuumed upstairs.

I need to write my Christmas cards tonight, so DS1 can add to his post tomorrow.

Thanks, I'm good - or as good as one can be, iyswim.:o She's pleased with my progress and has added 2 more exercises, all designed to strengthen the muscles in my hands.

'Fraid I haven't caught up properly with Fred, though I see Narco is in need of a (((HUG))) and her DH healing vibes - consider both on way.

Currently doing Cyber-Flying on 3 separate computers; one had to be completely cleaned out and have everything re-installed from scratch,:( the other 2 just need updates - particularly the latest version of 0pen 0ffice. Have also weeded our backup files to get rid of stuff that is so ancient as to no longer be required (like Cyber-Shredding, if you will);)

Boiler service also happened today, so I was in major panic mode, as I had to deal with the chaps myself. Boiler now has clean insides, and a clean bill of health.

And, of course, Dave's walks take a big chunk out of my day - not that I begrudge the little guy.:o

Gotta go, Mr LW will be in for his tea momentarily.:o

It's all quiet here :D kiddies did not protest at going to bed tonight. DS decided he didn't want pjs though. But I suppose he's capable of pulling his covers up, whereas DD just lays there shouting she's cold :rotfl:

I have swept the LR floor 3 times :D and got loads of laundry done, kitchen is ok but DR getting a bit cluttered. I need a box for our Xmas stash, lots of juice and soft drinks delivered today, plus jars of cranberry, chutney and so on. They are covering the sideboard at the mo and need a new home.

I've booked my airport parking, need to measure my little case to be sure its small enough to carry on. Also need to wrap my secret Santa gift. In fact, I might go do that now...

I'm also collecting contributions from one of our Facebook groups for a friend who lost her brother this week. I feel so humbled by how many of them have contacted me to put towards the flowers we want to send. I only put details up a couple of hours ago and I have more than £50 already.

  • Hi all

Busy day but I feel like I have achieved a lot. What a difference it makes not having any appointments with DS this week.

Well done getting the boiler sorted LW.

Narco, I know there is not a lot anyone can say that will really help but you take care of yourself. Keep us posted on whats happening.

8 days left a work then 5 days off for Christmas. Cant wait for the time off but Christmas can be a tricky time for DS. There is still quite a lot to do. I havent written a single card yet and there is not one decoration up in my house. By next Monday it will all be done!
