    Hi All

Sorry to hear that we have another poorly DH, hope he gets well soon

Good luck to those with Ofsted inspections today

I hope Lamewolf and Pigpen are okay, I don't think I have seen any posts from them this week.

Starting today with some trepidation, some anticipation and lots of sniffles as got a cold.

Doc is due to telephone today to discuss return to work after 9 weeks off with the BD. I have had counselling, meds, bought a light box which is fantastic, blood test after blood test to ensure there is no other underlying cause and now I feel 95% ready to tackle the working world. I did try going back after 5 weeks and broke down so I know I definitely feel stronger this time.

My plan is to only go back for three hours a day to start with, increasing by one hour per day each week if the doctor is in agreement. In theory then I will be back to full time hours in one month. I am also going to ask him to recommend a light box for work and a move closer to the window areas to help with this. This is the bit I feel intrepid about, will he agree with my suggestion?

(((Hugs))) to Narco and GWS vibes for your OH.
Glad to hear yours is getting better, effy.
Sounds like a good plan, Gilly.
Hope your school has come through today with flying colours, Dusty.
    to LW.

Today I have achieved the following:
    - made soup
    - put stew in SC
    - packed up two parcels
    - checked Christmas presents against list: only a couple more to get
    - visited my friend and watched her eat more soup (she had also had boiled eggs and toast earlier :) )
    - fed DH
    - we went out to the GC and did "normal" things like buying Christmas gifts and drinking free coffee. The lemon cake which we shared was a nice treat too :D

This evening we are going to write the rest of our cards whilst watching TV.
Tomorrow I shall be out all day again. And most of Friday. So much for flying.

At long last my friend has a date at the end of next week for her first chemo...

DS1 would have an occasional accident but got a lot worse when he started school, just because he was so tired I think. I think he was about 6 or 7 when I eventually went to the doctors, with my sons agreement that we needed to do something. The surgery lent us one of those alarms which you put under the sheet and beeps when moisture hits it and within a couple of weeks he was dry and never looked back.

DS2 seemed to have a bladder the size of an acorn and couldnt drink strong squash, too much fizzy or too much liquid at once. I used to worry because he would have the occasional daytime accident right through primary school. He just grew out of this in the end and I agree its hard not to get annoyed but you just have to be very calm about it all.

Anyhow, my kids bladders aside its going to be another fairly busy day and this cold seems to be getting worse, not better!

CY glad your daughter had a nice time. I used to get asked for ID a lot, but those days have gone sadly.

    Deco is the cat home?

    Right, need to move myself.
I'm 34 and I still get asked for id!!!!
I laugh about it now! Most of the time I have a 2 and 6 year old in tow and a wedding ring on my finger! I don't even think I look young- tired mother most of the time!

The only time I got slightly miffed was when we were on our way to a camping trip. Grabbed a tenner from hubby to get a pack of little beers from the supermarket while he waited in the loaded car with kids!
I had to leave them at the till as I had no ID and send hubby in! He p****d himself laughing and it was all he kept telling everyone all weekend!

Well today has not gone to plan but we do have 1 room Christmassy, and 1 room ready for a tree at the weekend. As for the rest of the house its a sty as DD decided on moving stuff between old and new bedroom which meant I had to remove the remaining of DS stuff which he left when he moved out, and of course the remaining decs and all the recycling and CS stuff are all in the hall. But worse things are going in the world so I shouldn't be worrying.

Back to the paid stuff tomorrow but first I need to write Flylady cards to get in the post lunchtime and tomorrow evening I'm supposed to be out but don't know if I fancy it.

Hope you got some answers Narcolepsy and that DH is ok x

    Love and hugs to all
Mortgage, we're getting there with the end in sight £6587 07/23, otherwise free of the debt thanks to MSE help!

bossymoo - re the nocturnal incidents - my ds was 5 in july and still wears "nighttime pants" - I'd say that 75% of the time they are dry, but we've tried going with out a few times and its just bed wash after bed wash. My ds is also worse when he's very tired - and they are EXTREMELY tired at this stage in the term. I'm not sure how much of it is under voluntary control at this stage, so sticker charts and the like can put them under a bit of unachievable pressure. There is a hormone that concentrates the urine at night and some signals from the spinal cord to suppress the urge to urinate that can take some time to mature. Most NHS services aren't interested in wet beds until the child is over 7 because its really very normal. Knowing this has helped me be a bit more patient with it :)

My school nurse friend says their advice is 5 drinks before 5 - if you can - my ds doesn't drink at school :( he'll have the carton of milk, and maybe a sip at lunchtime but thats it. He takes a water bottle and it comes home full every day. I've been trying to give him a cup of watered down fruit juice with breakfast, then a drink as soon as he gets in, but he loves his milk at bedtime - so that would be the one to stop for us if we were to make a serious attempt on his bladder. At the moment I can't cope with the washing :D

Thanks for that! Yes he is so tired at the moment, and no I don't get cross with him - to be honest I'd rather he was hydrated and in pull-ups than thirsty and dry. Wish granny wouldn't keep saying how she had hers out of nighttime nappies at two and a half ;) she has a sketchy memory, lol. And it's not a race.

Lots of paid stuff done today, with a break for DDs little nursery singsong (she was an Angel, she'd kept that quiet, they must have practiced lots, they were all brilliant, aww) then back to home office while they were at swimming, and more since I put them to bed. Really pleased with what I've finished, so other than a brief check in on either Friday night or Sunday night, I'm done for the week :T

Need to pop to market in morning, then rest of day at home, Mr T delivery (amended to include crisps for nursery party next week), lots of flying and some time with my favourite little lady (!) are all 4 yr old girls moody and over sensitive? Lol.

Gentle huggles to all those with health or other worries, and festive huggles for the rest of you xxx

Thanks for all your hugs. Still not much idea what is going on. At least OH has his mobile now so can text me - turns out the nurse this morning told him I'd rung but didn't get him the phone to ring me back like she told me she would. He had a CT scan at 6.15 this evening but no results yet so hopefully tomorrow.

    Evening all

NarcO - hope things soon sorted for your DH. It's bad enough feeling ill but I imagine even worse if you don't know why ((hugs))

LW - thinking of you and hoping everything still improving.

gilly - glad to hear you're feeling ready to go back to work and seem to have things organised. Good luck for Monday

Bossy - my DS2 was about 7 before he was totally dry. I know it's a pain and I bought some extra sheets from the cs, knowing they were only temporary and used a protective cover. Think boys are generally more susceptible than girls.

Deco - More homing vibes for your moggie

Had an awful day of weather here - freezing cold, very windy and wet on and off all day. Was lucky enough to cadge a lift to and from work so didn't have to don the waterproofs - not very attractive.
