Starting today with some trepidation, some anticipation and lots of sniffles as got a cold.

Doc is due to telephone today to discuss return to work after 9 weeks off with the BD. I have had counselling, meds, bought a light box which is fantastic, blood test after blood test to ensure there is no other underlying cause and now I feel 95% ready to tackle the working world. I did try going back after 5 weeks and broke down so I know I definitely feel stronger this time.

My plan is to only go back for three hours a day to start with, increasing by one hour per day each week if the doctor is in agreement. In theory then I will be back to full time hours in one month. I am also going to ask him to recommend a light box for work and a move closer to the window areas to help with this. This is the bit I feel intrepid about, will he agree with my suggestion?

  • Hi all

Still no sign of kitty. I bumped into the maintenance people working on next door (it's empty) I asked them to check the house and sheds to see if he was there. I'm not sure if he was as I had to leave for work.

Maintenance people informed me that a (thankfully) small part of lead flashing is deteriorating on the roof and will need replacing.

If kitty is not back at lunchtime, I'll door knock tonight after work and do some leaflets. I had an awful night's sleep worrying about him. To me, he's more than a cat.

Thank you for your cat returning vibes, it's very much appreciated.

Well this must be a Flylady Husband illness - had to summon ambulance yesterday (2hr wait) and OH now in hospital with suspected appendicitis. Was on a trolley wheeled around for various tests & scans for 7 hrs then finally found a bed just before midnight. I left at 1am; rang at 8am to see if they had made a decision on whether to operate. Doctors still doing rounds. Nurse said they would ring if and when any news. I went into town anyway although they wouldn't let me in as visiting time starts 3.30, but I thought I may as well do the shopping bits on my list to keep busy. Just got home and still no news. House is a mess, including flowers & foliage in buckets everywhere for this wedding I'm meant to be putting an arrangement(s) in for Sat. Have cancelled all work for week obviously, and 2 Xmas meals. Just keeping up from minute to minute but I hate the wait.

Deep breath. At least it is only 2hrs till visiting time and I might hear something like what the **** they are planning to do. A&E was manically busy last night.

sorry to rant. Hope your DH getting better, was it Effy?

    Hi Ladies

Hugs and healing vibes to those in need, (will check back properly later)

Todays plans are going so slowly. Did the hoovering in the middle room so just needs finishing in there, and decide to put the tree up in the front room. Why is it so time consuming, think I must have OCD as the lights have to be sorted to which ones will go on which tree, everything has to be laid out and measured so its all in the right order and I fear I will achieve virtually nothing today.

Flies away to get on ...........

Narc0lepsy sending good health wishes to your OH.

    Main bedroom Done!

Another busy morning. DD to uni, but just for two hours. Packing for son's business for a couple of hours. Sanded the bathroom window frame and stained, leaving to dry and hope to varnish tomorrow.

Sun shining, so toying with idea of an hour in the garden, as green bins emptied tomorrow.

I'm really sorry to hear your DH is in hospital Narcolepsy. Fingers crossed that he is sorted out and home soon. Mine was home after a day. He has been home a week now, although he hates sitting about and keeps trying to get up and do things. He feels fine when he is sitting about doing nothing, but as soon as he starts moving about, he is a bit sore. He has another week off work yet and I've got to try and keep him off his bike till he has recovered.

I have planning to do for work this afternoon. Then I might get some flying done.

Hope your DH is ok today and that visiting time has been productive in terms of finding out whats going on Narc0lepsy  :(

Have been inadvertently flying in the middle of the night - hadn't planned to change my bed particularly, but was rather necessitated by the smallest one puking in it...... She was fine - eating and no temp this am, so off to the childminder she went....... I know its bad form, but really I have NO ONE to have her otherwise, and I cannot just not go to work :(:( I had a clinic of 20+ this morning.

bossymoo - re the nocturnal incidents - my ds was 5 in july and still wears "nighttime pants" - I'd say that 75% of the time they are dry, but we've tried going with out a few times and its just bed wash after bed wash. My ds is also worse when he's very tired - and they are EXTREMELY tired at this stage in the term. I'm not sure how much of it is under voluntary control at this stage, so sticker charts and the like can put them under a bit of unachievable pressure. There is a hormone that concentrates the urine at night and some signals from the spinal cord to suppress the urge to urinate that can take some time to mature. Most NHS services aren't interested in wet beds until the child is over 7 because its really very normal. Knowing this has helped me be a bit more patient with it :)

My school nurse friend says their advice is 5 drinks before 5 - if you can - my ds doesn't drink at school :( he'll have the carton of milk, and maybe a sip at lunchtime but thats it. He takes a water bottle and it comes home full every day. I've been trying to give him a cup of watered down fruit juice with breakfast, then a drink as soon as he gets in, but he loves his milk at bedtime - so that would be the one to stop for us if we were to make a serious attempt on his bladder. At the moment I can't cope with the washing :D

Anyway, no more cat piddle to deal with today, so thats a brucie bonus :D

going to do the bathroom once dd back from dancing (imminent) and I can move the hordes upstairs.
