Continuing to send you both angel hugs and good wishes.

Thank you for the angel hugs, very much appreciated:D
For the first time in 3 months I am alone, OH has gone to his work place to talk about the future, redundencies, going part time etc:)
I know OH is very concerned with the whispers of the job coming to an end, the large company he works for maybe are not putting anymore money into it and moving elsewhere, where? no idea, he wants to ask them can he go part time but his contract stated 40-45 hours per week over a 5 day period. He always did a lot more often still there at 8 or 9 trying to get things finished because he wanted/needed to but still got paid the same obviously so now can he go in later and leave the same time?
OH has a load of questions for his boss and vice versa as realistically they cannot keep the job open forever unended and need to know from OH what he can and can't do and OH cannot do nowhere near physically, energy, mentally, dedicating as much as he did prior to the accident so where does that leave them?
Apparently there was a perfect job that would have suited OH and would have had some security future wise behind it but it was filled when OH was recovering, 2015 is not turning out so good:)
OH knows he cannot dedicate himself to his job as he previously did and maybe his boss has come to realise that also but everyone has to be realistic about it.
OH doesn't know the answers and nor do I ,we shall see when he comes back what has been agreed/said/thought of/where they can help/what can be done, who knows?0 -

Hi Victory
Has your DH had any input from Occupational Therapy?
Hopefully he will make a full recovery from his injuries, but until then he needs help with his rehabilitation, including returning to work.
Occupational Therapists can provide help and advice to both employee and employer with regard to supporting a person to return to work, advising on any adjustments that can be made in the workplace, and many other things.
You can be referred by your GP or you can contact them directly.
Here's a link.
Also, if Mr Victory's injuries are going to affect his ability to live a normal life for more than 12 months, he may be classed as having a disability. This will mean he can get further assistance including payment of benefits which might be useful if he is made redundant or if his income is reduced because of his injuries.
Occupational Therapy may be able to advise on this, or ask at your GP surgery, or contact disability charities.
I used to work for a charity that supported stroke survivors of working age who are obviously in a similar position to Mr Victory. There will be similar charities who can help you and your family.
Good luck and best wishes,

Thank you. Yes we have been very blessed with his OT, she has been perfect, yes he just needs help returning to work and no his injuries will not go past 12 months so will not be get payment of benefits.
On the face of it yesterday it went very well for OH, my eldest drove him there and waited for him, he was in and out pretty quickly with his boss taking a great deal of care over OH and his needs and they have come up with a plan.
OH will go in later as it takes him a very long time to get up and ready and he is very stiff and pained in the mornings, cannot agree to part time because that is not the nature of the job, he would have to be there daily and his boss said so long as he is there for some hours daily he will make sure that he has everything he needs like not lifting, a higher chair, more breaks, it went very well and also OH was very concerned that his job was going but his boss said he will personally try to keep it there until the end of this year.
That gives OH more time to recover and start if needs be to look elsewhere, attend interviews etc but as OH says that will all come later, for now his boss is prepared to accomodate OH injuries and work with him to make his work day as comfortable as possible and that is fantastic.
OH needs as a man or as anyone that has not been to work/had anything to do/concentrate on/ for a long time something to 'work towards' something to keep him motivated, positive, it is important for his recovery but then again his recovery is stopping him from returning, so a bit of the catch 22 at the moment.
I am sure OH is concerning himself with whether he will be able to do the job, he has literally wasted away and now has to gain weight, muscle, energy, strength, so the job is there but will have to wait a bit more I feel:)
Oh to win the lottery eh and he could just recover forever and ever:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -
I am so glad he is now on the right road, things are def picking up for him and indeed you. His boss sounds a good one and it's brilliant that they are helping as much as they can, to get him back to a normal (ish) life.
Roll on the good weather, that will surely help his mindset, we all feel better with the sun on our bodies. Take care, both of you, xTreat other's how you like to be treated.

That's good to hear Victory. When you think how far he has come in the last 3 months he will continue improving, but he does need to take it slowly - baby steps.
Is he still getting physio? Maybe the physiotherapist could help him with some short term goals to work towards. That would help his confidence.
His boss sounds really good, as long as he keeps his word I can't see anything else he can do.
Being back at work everyday will also help Mr V to get back into a regular routine. He may find he suffers with fatigue, so be prepared for him returning home from work exhausted. This should pass with time too.
Good luck to you all.
