Anyone got an email contact for MyVegas? Have booked a cancellable prepaid stay at the Signature via otel.com that beats the cyber weekend deal I had booked direct with MGM. the booking on otel.com is not with a jet luxury type group so I assume my confirmation number will suffice for myvegas rewards?? anyone got any experience of this?
Does the signature count as part of mgm grand for the purposes of the 50dollar casino credit deal on MyVegas. Also i'm sure there's no problems having both name on the reservation to both use this reward on each account
Booked MGM Signature through hotels.com last year, and had no issues with the credit reward. Adding both names on checking is not an issue.0 -
hey all...
We will stay where the comps are, but mainly picking the comp'd hotels with good pools, as we sit in the sun from 11am to 5pm !
Mission now: Get in shape ! hehe !Need to lose 2 stone, so I can put it all back on when we get there, Rollin Smoke, Famous Daves, Harleys, In'n'Out, Gallons of Bud Light, Jumbo Shrimp, mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, i'll shut up now !
Not for me, but I do love your determination and wish you look.
HIIT (spin, metafit, insanity etc) is the way to go for weight loss. Works for me everytime.0 -
The rain here in Keswick today really makes me wish we were in Vegas right now.:(0

Just to say to make sure that they HAVE added the 2nd person at check-in. We had a total faff in October with this...hubby checked into a room at an MGM hotel with his mum present, showed her passport, etc. Specifically because they were the two that were going to be using MyVegas buffet rewards that required a hotel stay and we knew she would have to be named on the room.
Then when we went to the mlife desk (during the period they were registered at the hotel) to redeem a buffet voucher, the mlife desk could not see his mum's name against the room so refused to allow her to redeem the buffet voucher. Hubby had to go back to reception with his mum to get her added and then back to the mlife desk to redeem the MyVegas reward.
Edited to add, the buffet reward was the same hotel as the stay. Not sure if it would have been the same if they were different, if they can see the names on the room for other hotels.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -

Excalibur was our 'home' property our first few trips and it was fine for us then. We're lucky enough to have comps at a few properties so we can use those to stay where we now quite like, but if Excalibur was the only comped option for us, we would stay there. We don't play for comps, but paying nothing for hotels (other than resort fee, where required) means it's easier to justify the gambling budget. But again, we found Excalibur to be just fine, not amazing, but adequate.
We have been lucky to stay at some quite nice places comped over the last few years based on our play, but we would find it hard to pay for a room if we had comps somewhere. We're struggling with March as I really do not want to stay at Bally's again, but hubby is not keen on Flamingo or Harrahs (and Linq and Rio are out for both of us, as is PH if we can only get a Hollywood Hip room which is all we can at present)...and we cannot get Paris or Caesars comped for our dates. We have been staying at Cosmo at the end of the trip the last few years, so we always have a nice place to look forward to at the end.
Our trip is 10 nights and we think, if we get the normal 2 nights each offers + 1 night each for being Sterling, we will stay the last 6 nights at Cosmo...so it's the first 4 that are in play...so it may end up being Bally's again, after all. If we could get 2-nights at Aria, we might just consider paying for 2...but it is hard to give up free.
Completely agree it is just a different approach and to each their own.Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
as for the host, did they contact you? or vis versa, did you feel you gambled alot?
I ve been trying to read up on *asking* for comps, and one of the people mentioned is a host and well, i have zero experince in delaing with them.
VERY brief guide to comps.
Always hand in your card when you play. When the pit boss looks over, make your bet bigger, then drop it when he's not paying attention. Comps are a function of average bet over time. NOT amount lost. A guy dropping $1000 in 1 hand will get comped worse then someone betting $50 a hand over 2 hours and only loosing $100. If you are doing really well, slip chips off the table into your pocket, WITHOUT them seeing.
Wynn for example wants a $200 a hand average at black jack, for 2 hours a day to get a comp room.
If you're betting small at the higher properties, dont bother, they'll pretend to rate you, but really don't rate anything under $35 a hand of bj.
Keep asking the pit boss how he's rating you "hey buddy, I hope you're rating me good, I'm trying to get more then a free cup of coffee out of these bums!" etc. Tip your dealer, especially when he's nearby. When you finish playing, ask what sort of rating he has you down as, ask for higher if you feel shortchanged!
If you're betting heavy ($100 a hand plus) ask the pit boss to call a host over for a general chat. Ask about what sort of things they can do and what sort of action they like.
Charge everything to your room. BEFORE you check out, call the hosts office from your room, ask them to review your play and to see what they can do with regards to the room charges.
Remember host intervention is different to comp offers. Give some good action and get comp offers by logging in before the next trip, which in my book is far preferable to dealing with someone, since really the plan is to maximise the free nights, and minimise gambling losses. NEVER play for comps!0 -
There's a Motel 6 on the corner of Tropicana and Koval Lane. I've used it - like all Motel 6's it's simple but clean, safe and adequate. If you want something a bit posher, there's a Super 8 further north on Koval Lane one block east of Bally's/Paris that I've used several times and been very happy with.
Of course, most people automatically stay in one of the casino resort hotels - fair enough, their decision, but IMHO it's worth at least knowing that there are other options.
EDIT: Whether you gamble significantly and therefore get comped is obviously a major factor in the decision.
Friend of mine stayed at that motel -yes for a basic stay it does what it says on the tin- however to say it's places like that or Strip hotels simply isnt correct- There's an awful lot inbetween most offering really good value and lots of facilities compared with the motel 6.I Would Rather Climb A Mountain Than Crawl Into A Hole
MSE Florida wedding .....no problem0 -
Now booked !
Would'nt let me book flights using my MasterCard, oh well, guess saved myself £14 using debit card.... £728 for the DUB-LAS flights (1022 euros it shows on invoice page)....
Mad though, as its £364 each for the flight, Sunday to Sun (14 nights)...
Shows £99 each way + £83 tax each way...
To fly BA from DUB to LGW, and then LGW to LAS with Virgin..... and Return.....
Yet it costs £900 each to book the Virgin flight alone if you did LGW-LAS rtn ?? I don't get it!!
Roll on May 29th !!!:T
Check the taxes and charges on the Virgin flight from Gatwick - they make up 60% of the total cost.0 -
but paying nothing for hotels (other than resort fee, where required) means it's easier to justify the gambling budget.
Completely agree it is just a different approach and to each their own.
Last sentence sums it up perfectly.
The other sentence probably explains my oposite few point. Basically, we are not big gamblers and so do not have to budget for it. Therefore, we never expect to receive any comps. Our hotel in LV is booked just like any other type (eg beach, city break) of holiday.0
