Now booked !
Would'nt let me book flights using my MasterCard, oh well, guess saved myself £14 using debit card.... £728 for the DUB-LAS flights (1022 euros it shows on invoice page)....
Mad though, as its £364 each for the flight, Sunday to Sun (14 nights)...
Shows £99 each way + £83 tax each way...
To fly BA from DUB to LGW, and then LGW to LAS with Virgin..... and Return.....
Yet it costs £900 each to book the Virgin flight alone if you did LGW-LAS rtn ?? I don't get it!!
Roll on May 29th !!!:T

StuieUK34, out of curiosity, will you stay anywhere that comps you or do you not have a hotel that you fancy staying in?0
-
I got the host at Monte who offered me 5 nights anyway if I contact her directly which is cool
hi
glad to see from your newer post you have booked up, hopefully we will bump into you as we are in vegas on june the 1st for 10nights!
as for the host, did they contact you? or vis versa, did you feel you gambled alot?
I ve been trying to read up on *asking* for comps, and one of the people mentioned is a host and well, i have zero experince in delaing with them.
My brother and I dont overly do gambiling i think on our last trip in june over 10nights i think we spend like $1000 -$1300 each, making sure our cards get swiped.
best of luck with the comp'ed rooms
(and its under 26weeks for our trip so a lil less for you!!)0 -
hey all...
We will stay where the comps are, but mainly picking the comp'd hotels with good pools, as we sit in the sun from 11am to 5pm !
My mission is to get us to Vegas as cheap as we can, so we can maximise our spending money when out there...
We haven't stayed in MGM or Excal or NYNY, so might do a few nights in MGM next year.....
We have the points on myVegas to use too on rooms if need be, tieing them in with the comp offers...
For me, the challenge has always been to get goodies at a super reduced rate or free, but naturally offsetting the cost of how I get to that in the first place.... I allocate myself $200 a day gambling money, and our holidays have always been a minimum 11 days......
As said in my report from this year (which Secretmachines still not published link on page 1 !) , I found a crafty way to make my 'coin in' look inflated
Which is how I got the host when leaving the Monte after a 2 night comp'd stay....
No idea how the comps work, all very odd when I read other posts on here, but my guess for myself is, I look like I spend and lose money to the MGM group.... If that gets me comps, happy days!!
I play little on slots, main games are BlackJack and 3Card Poker....
Mission now: Get in shape ! hehe !Need to lose 2 stone, so I can put it all back on when we get there, Rollin Smoke, Famous Daves, Harleys, In'n'Out, Gallons of Bud Light, Jumbo Shrimp, mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm, i'll shut up now !

but yeah, when I log into Mlife right now, it offers me 2 comp nights in MGM/M Bay/Delano/Monte/Exal/Lux/Mirage.....
Then I got an offer for 4 nights in Lux, 3 in Mirage, then 3 nights Suite in Monte, 2 nights Exal and 2 nights in NYNY (never stayed in MGM, excel or NYNY or Delano)
So yeah, my fingers will stay crossed that these offers come next year or when I can book them... Not bad offers mind!
Now to take the plunge and book leap-frog flights!
I thought you had to have a gap (3 days?) between using those offers, so you couldn't book multiple offers back-to-back?Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?0 -
We certainly had to wait 72 hours between. We worked it well as both had MLife comps and My Vegas rewards so we alternated between his offers and mine to meet the gap requirement"Don't sacrifice what you want most for what you want now"

Anyone got an email contact for MyVegas? Have booked a cancellable prepaid stay at the Signature via otel.com that beats the cyber weekend deal I had booked direct with MGM. the booking on otel.com is not with a jet luxury type group so I assume my confirmation number will suffice for myvegas rewards?? anyone got any experience of this?
Does the signature count as part of mgm grand for the purposes of the 50dollar casino credit deal on MyVegas. Also i'm sure there's no problems having both name on the reservation to both use this reward on each account0 -

always like hearing from your posts stuie and you seem to be like me in getitng things as cheaply as possiable!! which is a great thing and i always am grateful for any advice and help i can get!
WE have been to vegas twice before 3rd trip in june 16 and well we have stayed in the mgm grand both times, soon to be 3rd time and it suited us down to the ground.Though to be fair 2 lads in vegas well, if you want our view on carpets, you better move alone:D, if you want our advice on wallpaper or any fittins in rooms well , the mgm room had some wallpaper and fittins!
All we needed and i guess alot of people will need are a bed(or beds) a tv , drawers and a bathroom/shower and well thats what we needed and we got!
and im guessing like alot of hotels in vegas its about a mile to the pool which helps in maybe shifting some of the extra lbs
and you mention your handy way of letting the casino *think* you ve spend more and i must say well palyed!
and in regards your last paragraph, im sooo like you, though im hoping for a bit more than 2 stone!
kind regards0 -

Of course, most people automatically stay in one of the casino resort hotels - fair enough, their decision, but IMHO it's worth at least knowing that there are other options.
EDIT: Whether you gamble significantly and therefore get comped is obviously a major factor in the decision."Such an enormous country, you realize when you cross it" - Jack Kerouac0 -

Did you not fancy booking Excaliber when you booked your 3rd trip?
My guess, after staying in the newly refurbished MGM, is that you would have been very disappointed with Excaliber (despite the room having a bed, a carpet etc).
I know this is MSE, but I book my holidays in a very different way, eg I would rather pay for 10 nights in MGM Signature (which I love) than 10 nights comped in Excaliber.0
