  • Can anyone give me some info on total rewards & total rewards social?
I have had a look on the first page, but may have missed the info - blaming it on baby brain & sleep deprivation :D
  • Hi all, it's been so long from I've been on here that I needed to create a new account lol but anyhow we are finally heading back to vegas, we haven't been since we were married in 2011!! We hadn't intended to go back until next year for our five year anniversary but the flights were so cheap (377 each) that we couldn't pass it up. So we are heading back in October kids and all cause we couldn't even get a holiday in Spain for that!!
We have no hotel yet and I know it's still early but they seem really expensive for our dates (22-29 October) but we can get the polo towers for £450 for a two bed suite (bargain). I know it's not a casino hotel but I think this style of hotel would suit us better with the kids. We stayed at the signature last time and I know it won't be on par with it but it's out of our price range :( I noticed the Polo Towers doesn't have a pool bar but I was wondering if we could just take our own drinks and snacks? If anyone has stayed here before I would really appreciate any info you could give before we take the plunge and book!
I'm so excited to be back on this forum lol x

    Hi all

Apologies for the post asking for help! I go to Vegas/Phoenix every year and I'm now looking at flights for next summer (looking at Thurs 23rd July to Tues 11th Aug but can be flexible a couple of days earlier at the beginning but must fly by 23rd). I'm usually good at finding cheap flights by searching various airport combinations. I keep my plans flexible. However not having much luck this time. Can anyone help?

    Must haves:

    Departure/return airport - Edinburgh

Must be in Akron on 24th July so airport close by (can hire car or would consider cheap internal connecting flight)

After Akron, I'm heading west to Vegas so can fly back from Phoenix/Vegas/SFO/LAX.

The cheapest I get is £689 (EDI to Cleveland, SFO to EDI) but hoping for less than £600.

As an aside, I've checked the United website for flights leaving from Edinburgh and the flights seem to be around £550-£600 right up until 22 June then they jump to £900 for the whole of July before returning to around £550-£600 mid-August. Is this 6 week period just a super expensive time?

I'd hoped that prices would come down in Jan but no sign yet! :(

    Cheers!

    hi there
dont worry bout asking for advice or anything on the board!
as someone from edinburgh i have also struggled to find flights(direct flights that is) to vegas.

there are loads and loads of diffrent sites
    such as
expedia.dunno if you have tried this?

mykindatravel.a massive help to my brother and I.they helped us get flights(from edinburgh too!) so i could maybe recommened these guys.
They helepd us gets direct flights from edinburgh to new york(we spend 3 nights there) new york to vegas(10 nights), vegas-chircargo-edinburgh (this being a direct flight)

Hope this helps a lil mate as i know how hard it is to get direct flights but i think there are a few direct flights from edi-new york avaiable.
    Good luck

Just back home minus 3 bags left at Dallas. Ended up full of cold for the whole time, then my asthma kicked in which results in me hack coughing for about 10 minutes at a time, not a good look seeing some guy leaning against a machine with a blue face looking like he is choking to death.
Then Tracy came down with a throat infection.
But apart from that it was fine.

This has seriously made us reconsider future visits, we have 2 more planned for this year but might save our money and go on one good cruise a year. We have been 40 odd times so it might be the time to say goodbye.
We are really finding it more and more that we come down with something, must be the traveling, and we just don't seem to have the capacity to shake things off. It really does make us wish we had stayed at home.
The common law of business balance prohibits paying a little and getting a lot. If you deal with the lowest bidder, it is well to add something for the risk you run, and if you do that you will have enough to pay for something better.

There particularly seems to be a lot of lurgy going around at the moment :/

Do you fancy any 2 stops so you could do a short(ish) hop to PHL / JFK / CLT / DFW, spend a bit of time there than move on?

    Where would you cruise?

Hope you both get well soon :)

I think it's just the traveling thing really, not so much just Vegas but of course there you don't put your body in the best of conditions to stay health by drinking your own weight in booze each night and staying up till all hours.
We try to offset it by running and plenty of walking during the day, but if the bug catches you early then that stops pretty quickly.
We have already been on several cruises with NCL, all Caribbean but quite honestly the places bore me with no culture and the weather is always dicky even when it's supposed to be the dry season
We are doing Europe this year from Venice so hoping to see more history and cultures.

aw - I am sorry to hear that you were both unwell and didn't enjoy your trip, stoneman...maybe you can chalk it up to the travelling and not Vegas specifically?

given I have a cold at the moment it's not a good time for me to endorse it but I am going to anyway as this is the first fully-developed cold I have had in 2 1/2 years and I now swear by that First Defence stuff...my husband has had at least 6 colds that I never caught and I chalk it up to using this stuff...and I take it with me when we go on holiday - I don't use it all the time but on the day before, of and after the flights. I have no idea if it is actually what has kept me well or I have just been really lucky but for now I'm happy to continue using it, I used to get 2-4 colds a year so I figure that this one that has slipped through is an exception. :)
Does remembering a time that a certain degree of personal responsibility was more or less standard means that I am officially old?
