    Hello shipmates.
I went over March grocery spends by £6, but I did do a £40 Aldi shop with £5 voucher, so cupboards are well stocked for April.

I am still following all your posts and advice and being very mindful of any spending, which I find is helping with my decluttering in the house.

I really hope the weather improves for Easter I would love to get out in the garden, and start clearing my little veg boarder. (10 x 3 ft) I am a bit of a fair weather gardener so I have not ventured out much yet. Although I did find some parsley and chives that had survived the winter and they were lovely in tonight's homemade fishcakes.

    HHx

Done my shopping for the week, but will be going and spending again Saturday, need water butt's now I'v got guttering on OH's mancave & my green house, seedlings are now starting to pop up, but it looks like I will have to re-set some herb seeds, that what I get for being over eager, still it is the first time I'v had a greenhouse and even failuer's teach me the limit's of what I can do in an un-heated one, good job I'v got seeds left.

  • Hi All. I'm just catching up and trying to keep up to date.
Work manic at the moment what with Easter. So I haven't be doing much other than work, home, work and home again. I'm looking forward to the long weekend ahead.

My food budget is well on target. I've even managed to get lots of YS food (and even wine). Also froze quite a lot of the YS food and managed to get muffins for egg and bacon muffins over weekend. Also double choc muffins for easter Sunday breakfast and a lovely cherry pie and custard for desert all YS. Easter lamb roast sorted, dessert, snacks and Easter eggs including the wine and shopping for the week until next Thursday all for £17.46. It took a bit of juggling but I did it and it was great to get lots of treats which I do find hard in my monthly budget. :T
Gosh enough .... Otherwise I'll eat it all before the weekend:rotfl::rotfl:

    Had an odd thought today.
I've turned my coat hangers round to see what I'm wearing. (Or not) when dressing for work today I wore a cardigan that had sat in wardrobe unworn for ages. It felt awful all day, baggy & unloved. Took it off tonight and put it in the charity bag. Why oh why had it taken up valuable space in my wardrobe for so long?

Shiny new month :):):) and only spent £1.20 on three large oranges today so I am feeling pretty pleased with myself.I am going to try and stay away from the shops for another week or 10 days if I can I have more than enough food in the cupboards and have no need to buy anything else.I still have a voucher for £6.00 off a £30.00 shop in W8rose that is OK until 12th April so I am going to try to hang on until then before I shop again. My last W8rose shop got me some really good bargains and their 6 for £2.00 lamburgers I tried a couple tonight and they were delicious I may make a lasagne with some of the half priced beef mince over the weekend.Didn't even need an aldi shop this month so my purse is firmly padlocked for awhile :):):)
I'm very pleased with the first quarter of this year as I managed to stash £23.66 into the holiday fund.

Hi, just nipping in to say thanks to Not Buying It we managed to save 50% of our take home pay last month and this month we're saving around 40% (assuming there are no emergencies). It's tight, but we've made some changes and stayed out of the shops, it's been amazing! We won't be able to save anywhere near that for the rest of the year but we have low expenses in March and April so we're having a massive push and doing all we can .

    Thanks everyone!
