Grr just lost a massive post.
I think all my animals have been recycled.Rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, hens, budgies, cats ,dogs. My Dad was the same, took anything in.We had a goat once,he came home with it in the back of his van.She used to bite and nobody would drink the milk.He gave her to my Grandma who had a massive overgrown garden. She ignored the thistles and nettles and ate a line of washing, just leaving scraps pegged to the line. She quickly went to live on my uncles farm.Goat not Grandma hahahaha.
Was in the charity shop yesterday.Donated the cardigan back I bought last week.Too grown up for me.(read old)I came home with 2 bon bon dishes which I intend to make candles in for presents.
Must crack on,got loads to do and taking my Mum to a funeral this afternoon.

Good Morning chums another lovely day by the looks of things here in the garden of England.
Our team came second in the pub quiz last night:):) and won a bottle of wine for the 'stash'.We save them up until we have enough to have a share out each of a bottle of plonk. That way we all get to benefit. So this year so far we only have two bottles so have another 6 to win before we all get a glass:):):)Its usually two bottle for a win and one bottle for second place so we are all happy with that.
This afternoon I have my U3A monthly meeting and the talk is about local history to where I live so that should be interesting.
Hope you all have a good day.

Hi LYNPLATINUM yes that's my boy DOC when he was about 3, he's 11 now and poor lad has a massive tumour on the left side of his muzzle and looks decidedly older and greyer but then so do we! We had him as an 8 week old pup having looked for a long time at rescues and not found one who bonded with us. He's part greyhound, part whippet, part border collie and part bedlington terrier and about 21" at the shoulder so just a little guy. We had the pick of the litter and met mum and dad on the livery stable yard where he was born and raised. He's been quite hard work in some ways but so much fun and is such a loving lad it's been well worth the difficult bits! Lyn xxx.0

Finally gave the bits I had in the bag to the cs today. Also sorted a few bits that had to be recycled. Still got to shred some paperwork. But am happy as what I had achieved today. Also made a banana cake this week to use up a few things.
Booked a day trip this week to the seaside for my Mum and I for July.

Have been AWL as well.. So will pop in to say hello.
I've been busy with loads of crafts and some cooking and baking recently. Made a big batch of orange-carrot jam on Sunday, the first attempt in jam making for at least four or five years...
Ditched my reducing-book-buys plan yesterday. Actually my plan was to deal with my huge stack of unread books and only buy a new one once I've read two others from the stack. But I'm so lazy when it comes to reading at the moment and none of these book really interessts me, so I ordered the biography of Sir John Mills and "Nella Last's war" second hand off Amazon for less than 4£ for both of them. So at least a small compromise.
Besides I got some oilcloth to sew a bag and glass beads for another crafting project. So at least my plan to only buy crafting stuff with a project in mind worked well.
Food spends are quite high though, need to sort that out... That could very well have gone better...
No other spends planned at the moment besides groceries on Friday.
Vulpix, had a good laugh about the goat...! My uncles farm was also home to loads of "left over" animals. Once my Mum and aunt went out for a drink and a man asked them if they wanted a donkey for us kids to ride as he (owner) was in poor health and had to part with his animals. The donkey was a right little nag but we kids loved him dearly and he always treated us nicely, while the adults sometimes had troubles with him as he did whatever he wanted.
Another time a friend of my granny got a bunny from somewhere and just arrived one day telling my uncle to look after it. She paid the care with out of date cakes from her family bakery...
Jacky, well done on wining!
So, need to get some things done tonight and will go over to my parents for some chatting. My mum and I used to talk on the phone but then found out that meeting in person is much better as we both have our hands free for our knitting. Plus it has a massive advantage for me; I hate cutting fruits, so really like the fact that my Dad will cut apples or peel oranges as a healthy dessert :-) He makes jokes that I only come because of that...

Ricarda a lot of my childhood memories involve animals.Sadly we have nothing now as my husband is allergic to anything and everything.I would LOVE to be given a donkey!
Before the funeral I called into the school I used to work at as someone had brought me some strawberry plants. They insisted I took a dolls house that I used a lot with children who had trouble with speech and language.Such a shame that they were chucking it out and also that those children in need will probably be doing a programe on the computer now instead of talking to a person.Anyhoo I had to leave it at my Mums as I was also giving someone else a lift and I only have a mini.I was going to take it away and put it on freecycle or something but my Mum is dead keen to restore it.It weighs a ton, when I lifted it up today the base is an inlaid lump of priceless wardrobe door!It is in mock Tudor 1930's style.
We booked a little break in Oxford for after Easter.Making the most of it before my son leaves. He gave his notice in this week.Such a shame that charismatic young teachers like him are leaving in droves. He hopes to work in Canada for a year.good luck to him.
Confession time,I have not touched the wardrobe this week.Don't make me do it tomorrow it's my birthday.
Love to read all your posts Vx:0 -
vulpix Happy Birthday honey ,hope you have a lovely day. What a great find in the dolls house I bet your Mum will have a great time restoring it.enjoy your trip to Oxford ,beautiful city i met and married my OH back in 1962, I know its changed a lot but a nice walk around the colleges is a must and if you can have a punt on the river. If you want to hang on to your cash don't go near Blackwells in broad street.I did and parted with a good chunk of cash as its a great bookshop.
:):) Just so many nice places to see and a wander around the town is lovely.Parking can be a nightmare though.
Well the sun is out and my gardener Mick is coming today to wake my garden up for the spring. He will mow the grass and tidy the beds up and we will have a chat about what I would like to be planted in my garden this year.Lovely old chap, I was his first customer and its money well spent once a fortnight to keep my garden looking neat and tidy as I find it difficult to bend anymore. He will also have his beautiful dog Poppy a gorgeous red setter who is very well behaved and will sit patiently waiting for me to bring her a couple of biscuits when I make her boss a cup of tea.I have some baking to do this morning but no shopping to go out for thank goodness.
Hope you all have a good day ,we're half way through the month nearly already, the time is just flying at the moment
Cheers chums
