Busy day today but no shopping at all.The gardener turned up(only a day late ) and mowed the lawn ,then I had to go to a meeting that I had forgotten at lunchtime at U3A but it was quite good and I had a free cup of coffee and some odds and ends from the buffet table so didn't need to make lunch, then I picked up my library book that I had ordered and tootled off to history club (paid for from my entertainment purse )then back to DDs house to sort the DGS out and their Dad came home a bit earlier so I managed to get home to my house before 6 p.m. which is good for me.
I was going to stop for fish and chips then thought No !! I have fish already battered in the freezer so I shall have that with some veg instead so saved myself at least a fiver there.
NSD tomorrow just going to potter about Tonight I hope to do my ironing which I managed to get dry in the wind today so I can just please myself tomorrow .A bit more decluttering is on the cards I think
Have a good evening all

Evening everyone
Have managed to escape charity day at work with only a £2 spend, and buffet contribution was a family sized YS cheese & onion pie I picked up for 30p a few weeks ago that I'd popped in freezer for just such an occasion !!
Called into local co-op on way home as wanted something nice for tea, after wandering around going  at the prices, I've come home and made a fish finger buttie :rotfl:
Have managed another week without doing a food shop so that's 3 weeks in total, not sure I can get away with another week so going to check stocks in the morning as see what's what0 -

Evening shipmates
happy birthday Vulpix! A bit late though, but nevertheless. Hope you enjoyed the day!
Strange day today... Overslept, only by 10 minutes, but they were enough to miss my bus. Texted my boss that I will come into work late and when I arrived found out that she overslept as well and woke up because of my text...
I just noticed that I don't have a present for my granny... It is her birthday on Sunday and she will get a day trip from my sister and me, but we always give her something small to unpack and I know that my sister has something for her. So I thought I'd wanted to give her something as well. Found these two green fabrics, both quite springish and will sew her two place matts from that. So a present sorted with no costs and making use of my stock.
Ordered another book... There we go again... It is set in the town where I live so I need to have that...
Also got some yarn to knit for charity. My mum is in a knitting group where they knit for charity and since I have the day off on Monday I will go there as well and will knit a hat which, once it is done, will go towards their donation pile as well.
I actually don't know what I'm doing in this tread as all I seem to do is spending money...
Jackie, I love reading from you and what you're up to. It always sound just like the way it should be with all the things you do.
I don't like vanilla, so whenever a cake calls for vanilla I use lemon zest instead. Might be an option for you as well until you stock up on vanilla again.
So, off to get my laundry from the dryer and prepare a dough. I will bake a cake tomorrow so will make the dough for the base today and the filling tomorrow. Have been lucky to just have enough butter for it in the freezer, no idea where all the butter went...Fashion on the Ration 2022: 5/66 coupons used: yarn for summer top 5 /

Went out for an Indian last night, n was very disappointed with my veggie balti! The potatoes had hardly been chopped, n there wasn't enough sauce :(Think we'll stick to our usual place in future:D
Hi Candygirl
Have you tried the take away indian from Al*i ??? It is really nice!!
As a treat hubby and I have that @ £3.99 and a packet of Onion Bhajis £1.49 for 8 and Veg Samosas £1.49 for 8. If that is too much for you, you could always freeze half. The main meal at £3.99 has 2 chicken dishes, 2 rice dishes and 1 side dish, so very good value.
On another subject my JEANS have arrived and I am very pleased with all 6 pairs of them. All were under £3 a pair on e*ay and new so well chuffed to be able to add to my other 20 or so pairs. WELL IT IS MY ONE WEAKNESS!!!!!!!:rotfl: as I never spend much money on anything else. And in my defence I gave up smoking over a year ago this month!!! :j And I absolutely love my jeans!!!
Hope everyone has a good weekend!!! Happy gardening to all those that have made a start on the veg growing!!!

Hello All,Thanks again for birthday wishes.
I went shopping today with Birthday money in my bag but didn't spend anything. It's all just so expensive and I don't need it.
How are you doing with the clothes hanger challenge?I realized yesterday that I need to include shoes too.Went to put some heels on to go out in and then changed them at the last minute for flats.I've not worn those heels for 3 years and then I think I only wore them once.Since I have lost weight my feet have shrunk!!!!!!!!!!! gone from a 7 to a 6.I think my heels days are over, can't believe I used to do a days work in them.
I must say my new bird bath is looking lovely but I have never seen a single bird anywhere near it.
Pottering tomorrow and will drag the wardrobe door out of the garage and leave it in the kitchen to shame me.

Morning
I went to bed at 9 last night so been awake since 5not the best start to a Saturday.
Have been looking at food stocks, technically I could get away with another week without shopping but the things I need to replenish are either bulky or heavy ie rice, tins, washing powder etc and I have to rely on public transport to get them home so can't wait much longer or I'll never carry it all home.
So I'm going to go to Aldi this morning and get some bits and pieces. I'm happy with 3 weeks between a shop as I used to go weekly, spending £20, then sometimes topping up in the middle of the week:eek:
Have invited mum for lunch tomorrow, have a joint of lamb in freezer so all I need is veg and to make a pud, cheaper than going out somewhere0 -
I checked the online bank balance this morning, as I do first thing every morning (so sad I know:o) and bloody Amazon had charged me twice for some pet food so I had to have one of those annoying conversations with the person on the phone who sounds like a robot.
The money will be put back into our account so it will hopefully be a NSD.
It's beautiful and sunny here and just a little bit chilly. Hope everyone has a good day.:)HOUSE MOVE FUND £16,000/ £19,000

Morning all. The sun has come out after a grey start and I'm about to hit the street and pedal off the allotment. Just thought some of you might enjoy reading this blog post from the MrMoneyMustache blog;
