Naughty, naughty edwink!
Trouble is, your tale was believable because we already know of some of the things that go on in food processing. All the more reason to try and source products of reputable origin, even if they cost a bit more, and avoid ready meals like the plague. One life - your life - live it!0 -
Jackie O I had the same dilemma with the Aldee vouchers.I gave them away to a young man with a young family through FB.I did use 1 of the vouchers and that was enough for me to stock up a bit.Just pleased I didn't waste them.
GQ I shoved some sprouting garlic segments in a pot on Friday.I have done this before, the result wasn't fantastic but I did get small bulbs.
OK going in the drawers.Laters Vx:0 -

OK going in the drawers.Laters VxThanks for that; I shall regard it as an experiment, I cannot eat them all before they go off and if I do get something back, it'll be a bonus. Gardening is a series of learning experiences. I've done (and seen other do) things which shouldn't have worked out. I've also gardened by the book and had total disasters, so if I'm not wasting too much time or money, I regard it as a fun way to get better educated.
They're desperate to grow, anyway, shoots are positively bursting out of the segments, so I feel I need to help them fulfill their destiny.;)Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Jackie - is there any way you can share the Allthedays voucher with a friend or your DD? I did that last month (as well as using one on my own another day to stock up, 2 growing boys and all)0

Hi Candygirl
Can I please ask where you get the monthly Ald* vouchers from? Are they from one of the newspapers?
Not sure if others know but you can sign up for the Ald* weekly news letter!! Every week this tells you their special offers of the week on veg and meat plus other bits and bobs too!! I have found their e-mail great for meal planning and making the most of their veg and meat offers.

Other than that, and maybe a wee bar of chocolate, I'm not planning any spends at all, will just be working on my plot and planting some garlic cloves, which are already trying to sprout. They were part of a bargainous 2 bagfuls of fruit and veg for £1 and I've eaten some, and held back another 4 to cook with, but the rest are going into the ground. Haven't grown garlic before, so it'll be interesting and the experiment will cost me nothing but 5 mins of my time to plant them.
I do this every year GQ, and they always grow. Each clove grows into a small bulb - they tend to get a bit bigger if you plant them before Christmas, but even planted in March or April you get a result. And as you say, it costs nothing0 -

I've heard stranger stories!
An Italian friend warned my vegetarian daughter off eating Nutella. He said he used to live round the corner from one of their major factories and they would have lorry loads of chicken skin/fat delivered every few weeks, he could only conclude it made up the fat in the Nutella!
I can't imagine they could possibly get away with such practice in this day and age, but does make you wonder.
