    Ahoy shipmates.

I have had my eyes tested today and coughed up £25 for a pair of reading glasses.I have never had glasses before, not bad I suppose as I am almost 56.

Glad I saw sense and gave money off vouchers away.Weekly shop £23.That's more like it.

We had a house viewing today, the estate agent did it whilst we were out.She said things will pick up now as when it snows it stops the trade dead.

The wardrobe is up!!!!!!!!!! One of the doors awol in the garage. All the clothes are installed with hangers the wrong way round.Hmm I have a lot of clothes in drawers too,how can I do similar?Have an empty drawer that I return laundered stuff to?Any ideas?

    Lovin hearing everyones chat.Vx

    Hi Vulpix

I have been thinking the same thing about my clothes in the drawers!!! Mmmmm!!! I was thinking on the same lines are you are!!! But, That would eventually leave a drawer of odd bits of clothing full up and the other drawers would become three quarters full roughly!!!

Maybe a good old declutter of them to start with. Then I think we would need 2 or 3 big empty drawers to start off with and just fill them with what we have worn by putting them in some sort of order!!. This would expose the things we don't wear in the other drawers.

Bet you are pleased with the wardrobe being in place. My god you worked so hard on that!! Well done!!!

Good luck with the house sale!! Let us all know how it is going!!

Spent £11.86 yesterday on a floral die, purely as I'm thinking in the long run it'll save me money as I won't have to buy artificial flowers to decorate my crafts.

I've also made my first christmas present today...am I getting ahead of myself?

If you look on you tube there are lots of tutorials on how to make flowers.

    Hi Candygirl

My fear was the flapping too!!! I was terrified of it!! That was my main fear if I am honest!! I used to think what if they flapped so much they flew up and got tangled up in my hair and sat on my head flapping like mad!! Now I go into their hotel at night and count them in!! I have to move some of them as they all want to spend the night over their night heater!! I move the frail ones over it and the chubby ones to the outer edges. There are feathers flying everywhere. I am in there saying to them "you go there and you stay here!! Don't you dare move and stop pecking her" Once I have done that they stay where they are because I turn the light off and as they can not see in the dark they stay put for the night!! Works a treat!!

Thanks for letting me know where you got the candles from. Will have a look on-line for them!! I won't spend, honest!!! Just looking!!!

  • Got a big NBI test today. DH, DS (17) & I are going shopping!!! DS needs a few new clothes for college, and DH & I have a few needs clothes. I have a list and will try very hard to stick to it. It's our first trip to a big town this year so hope we can do as well as we have done with the grocery shopping so far this year.
As a treat I have change some Tesco vouchers (£10) for £40 of Zizzi vouchers and booked us a table for lunch time. I am hoping that as we have that treat we won't just feel like we can buy anything we fancy ( which is how we would have shopped last year)
Aside from the not spending I am hoping for some quality time with my boys.
    Will report back later.
We WILL stick to a budget for all of 2015 without loosing momentum. :j
  • pm2326 I used to have a friend who also was just as daft and wouldn't use a library as she said she didn't know who had used the books before her,Doh that's what libraries are She would always buy books from the shops then bin them after she had read themI used to get so cross as to me binning books is awful even charity shops would accept them. But then she was a rather silly woman anyway :):):)

    Good Morning chums,
well the Ramsgate tunnels were really good, and both DD and myself and my 3 DGS really enjoyed them very interesting tour and the fact that they were starting to be built before WW2 even started and were finished in June 1939 meant that the government must have realised that war was loomimg.Saved countless lives and 60 thousand people used them whenever the sirens went off.Only thing I found a nuisance was the lack of signs telling you how to find them. When we eventually did find them the guide said that the sign at the top on the road keeps getting pinched !!!But an excellent day out with the boys. We had a treat in a local cafe in the town called the Village cafe.Spotlessly clean and plain grub to fill you up for a hot lunch on a rather cold and windy day. 4 cheeseburgers and chips 1 double egg sausage and chips (I'm not a burger fan) 2 teas, a milkshake (big as well) and two glasses of pop came to 19.70.We don't normally eat out but it was so chilly and the wind was whistling off the sea.Cafe was clean, waitress service was swift and we were all warm and fed :):):).Then I went into the nearby butchers and bought some beautiful pork chops which were very reasonable. Smashing butchers of the old fashioned sort not pre-packed but looked fresh and inviting in the window. So a great day out all round.OK so I spent a wee bit on the pork chops but I just couldn't resist them and some have gone into the freezer.Meal cash came from my Happy Stash Cash which I have for treats for us when the boys and I go out for the day.I also have some shopping to buy this morning so my food purse will take a hit today as well as yesterday :):):) but only 8 more days to go until the end of the month :):)
So doing my best to stay under budget and no big buys at all this month

    Hi!
I feel like a naughty stowaway! I'm just de-lurking to say I love Ramsgate, my Grandma still lives there and I love visiting. I spent most of my childhood holidays there and spent hours on the beach.

Since reading this thread I've become a lot more spend aware and also managed to stay out of debt, pay off credit card (small amount) and resist buying all sorts of C*arp!

Keep up the brilliant work you are all fabulous. Xx

Sounds like a plan Happy Home.I forget I have Tescs vouchers to spend,Mr V single handedly keeps their petrol station open.Last year I bought all new tiles for the bathroom with vouchers, saved £300.

Edwink, decisions ,decisions.I will declutter again.Did it last December and sold a lot of too big stuff.Everything I have now either fits now or is a size smaller as that is my aim with the weightloss.(seem to be at a plateau at the moment)

I have bought some things from the charity shop on my daughters advice but I don't think I will wear them,so that's a start. The thing is,I don't really know what suits me.I want to wear different styles to when I was 4 stone bigger but I don't want to dress too young.

When the wardrobe is intact I will post photos. It has been as they say epic!

Today will not be a slimming day.Son visiting with new gf.Like a Royal visit.Mr V will be like Father Jack in the chair, imagine him with tape across his mouth:rotfl:

I am making chicken and leek pie and at their request kiwi pavlova.Being here ont tinternet wont knit the baby a new bonnet,so better get on.
