Feeling semi-galvanised. Only had a couple of students at uni today, so managed to post lots of cards and have a swim on the way home. Aga now warming up for chocolate cake I said I'd make for this evening's visit.
Managed to get 3 more charity donations doubled up on Big Give; did 2 yesterday - golly the money goes fast (theirs and mine!).
Really cold today so will be quite glad to be cooking soon.
Not sure what else I'll do after lunch but promise it will be flying.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -

sorry to hear of those with troubles at the moment, my best wishes to all
We have a house of lergy at the moment. biggest one has been suffering with this horrible cough/temperature virus thats been doing the rounds - over 20% of the school is off at the moment and another local school has been shut down for a deep clean and have got Public Health in to investigate the outbreak of lergy there
Shes been off today and had a FABULOUS time at playgroup with littlest one this morningIt was so funny seeing a big 7 yr old play with the HappyLand houses and little people and then sit at the snack table with her knees around her ears on the tiny chairs demolishing all the food on the table.:rotfl: really sweet.
House looking a bit messy at the mo - its all surface mess, easlity tidied, but therefore easy to put off and then it all continues to accumulate.
Will do a bit, then do a bit of knitting, then make the kids tea. Middlest one is being picked up by my friend and taken to football and brought home by her too - its very strange not having to go out for the school run!
Winter disco at school this evening - I'm only going to endure half an hour of it (and have to be a first-aider too) then I'm going to have to drag myself off to my work xmas do........ not really looking forward to it tbh

Huh, just made pig's ear out of my never-fails signature chocolate fudge cake. Clearly a blonde day; used new measuring jug and failed to notice that everything was in metric and not a mixture of ml and pints. I am perfectly capable of using metric, but stupidly read "1/2" as half a pint and ended up baffled by the consistency of the cake mix - yep half a litre of milk. Duh. Hastily mixed a bit of everything else in to see if I could rebalance. It's now cooking. I will probably be icing it on the drive up to our friend at Newmarket. Had to console myself with a quick blast of Candy Crush..........
Of course the kitchen was then in a state with cake mix everywhere, so have washed up and cleaned everything.
Did a few more cards.
Did a disc cleanup, will put on defrag when I go out.
"emptied" final few bits of paper so I now have an entire 5-level filing rack clear. Will label the levels before I refill it with dross again. At least it will be organised dross.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -
lw - hope the injection is working. Can you recommend a book on learning about paganism, I acknowledge the summer and winter solstice but I'm not sure how to mark them properly.
That said, you might find some interesting stuff here:
http://www.thewhitegoddess.co.uk/the_wheel_of_the_year/index.asp
and here:
http://www.paganfed.org/cms/
Also if your local library has any books by Cassandra Eason or Teresa Moorey, they'd be worth a look.:o Also look out for Scott Cunningham, but bear in mind he writes for American Pagans, who are mainly Wiccan (it's just one particular branch of Paganism).
There are very many Pagan paths; some work in groups, others like myself work alone; it's very much honour the Earth and do what's right for you.:o
My "thing" as you probably know is healing for animals.;)
Mrs MP (((HUGS))) I wish I could take away all the stress, hun. At least here it's just Mr LW and me to bother about, and if push comes to shove, my rubbish can be kicked under the carpet and trampled on. I'll have a quiet word with Coyote (the Trickster) to let you and your loved ones alone. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
I'm sorry you and your mil had such a bad time at the hospital Mrs Moneypenny. DH, although a known epileptic, was given no epilepsy medication during his time in hospital. By the time I found this out, it was time for him to go home. I was fuming.
No flying for me today, because I've had work this morning and I have to go back later for parent' s evening. What with looking after DH and doing tea, there'll be no time for anything. Bring on wine o'clock, when I get home.£1000 Emergency Fund #175 - £598/£1000
PAYDBX 16 #134 - £2139.00/£6961.85

Effy that is terrible and could have had really bad concequences, hope your Dh is recovering well.

Effyb4 Mr LW has high blood pressure, and we were told he'd be given the appropriate meds (he's on Amlodipine) but they never found a Dr to sign off for them in the 4 days he was in. The only way he got his meds was I took his regular tablet to him each day when I visited. They tut-tutted over me doing that, but if I hadn't, his blood pressure would've been through the roof, to add to his other problems.
Also,he's my Carer (I need help to bathe and dress) and he was told this would be attended to and some help organised, but it never was - in the end I spent 4 days living in kaftans, these being the only garments I can scramble into unaided - good job it wasn't perishin' cold like it is now!
Talk about a shambles! OK, in the event, I'd sooner manage alone than have a stranger come to my house, but it'd have been nice to have the option. Luckily, he'd got me out of my clothes and into my dressing gown before he went to the emergency walk-in place, or I'd have been in real trouble.:DIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0
