Effyb4 Tell your DH he's to rest as he should, or Auntie Wolfy will be over to sort him out. I've had some practise recently, after my own DH was in the horse-piddle for a few days.;) He didn't want to rest up, either. If your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -

Glad to hear it
aww we had our little adventure into town on a train, a good mooch in the Lego store and looked at all the lights. We had a really nice time. It's not something I'd usually do, so feel quite proud of myself. Kiddies were really well behaved and enjoyed themselves. DS wore his old bumblebee backpack with the parent strap, and DD had an old pair of reins on. I know they're a bit big, but we are talking late night shopping in a busy city, I couldn't risk losing them. As it was, I held onto DD and she held onto DS, who was the engine, and we were the carriages :rotfl:
Typically, our train home was cancelled, so we had a 40min wait but there is a McD in the station. Two happy meals and a choir of carol singers right outside, and we were a merry little party.
They are in bed now, and looking around, this house is a TIP!
Hope the injection has the desired effect, LWxBossymoo
Away with the fairies :beer:0 -
Narco, as I pulled up on the drive the fairies greeted me with their shrill little tweets. Good omen, I hope
I must ask DH to refill the feeders, front and back..
Ooh it must be getting cold, that's usually when they start coming back round here.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -
Ionafan glad your day is improving and various medical involvements showing positive.
I had a really bad night; not exactly worrying, but busy brain. Main thoughts were a) would I get enough sleep to cope with the 6hrs non stop teaching which was scheduled for today. As it happened, the 12noon student forgot to come, which gave me a bit of a break. b) thinking about flowers! The most bizarre request; to try and cut a long story short, I (and a friend) have been asked to do the church flowers at a friend's son's wedding. Why bizarre? The wedding is a week Saturday!!!!! And apparently there is no budget. I can only assume that the couple assumed the church would be already decorated for Christmas so they would make use of it. However, we on the flower rota aren't due to decorate until the following Saturday as carol service is 21st. I'm super busy next week with work all day Mon, Wed and Thurs; Tues is zumba then flying and organising Xmas stuff as Friday OH and I are going to London to see the lights, winter wonderland etc. Not to mention meals out on Wed and Thurs. So now seems my Tuesday afternoon is going to be spent arranging, then dropping it off to the church. I'm not exactly way behind with Xmas preparations, but neither am I advanced so I'm going to have to really get a wiggle on to fit everything in. When? well there's a question.
So, at 4.30am unable to sleep, I was finishing off writing Xmas cards.
This evening I've just caught up on a few bits & pieces: reading solar meter as that was due; juggling students and timetables for the next couple of weeks; checking that a friend can eat the gf chocolate fudge cake I'd promised for a visit tomorrow (in the last couple of days she's announced no dairy as well - and my cake has milk as, I assume, does the chocolate). Still it's nice when you get the odds & s*ds out of the way.
Luckily only 2 students tomorrow, so home in time to make cake.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -

I've had a stinking rotten fight with DD tonight. So the busty comment really lifted my mood
.
It sounds as though there are some improvements for people, I'm pleased to hear it.
Very sad news here, a friend of mine from years back who has a son who is friends with DS has lost her ex husband. He can't be that old as we are mid thirties. His poor son is 10. I have a feeling that he was on our unit as there was an incident just before we came on duty last night
.
