Ick. My cakes are stuck. I can possibly rescue the Xmas tree one as was going to cover in roll out icing anyway. But the reindeer one is in pieces:cry: the muffins aren't playing either.

So I'll find a recipe for no bake cake pops instead. Have loads of sticks and melting choc so can probably make some Xmas pud ones with a red smartie and bit of green icing. Best have a look before we go out, in case I need to buy anything extra. Never mind.

Outside lights are tested and strung up. I've set them on a timer, so that's one less thing.

DD has decided she wants ready brek for lunch. DS is having school, Xmas dinner today, so it seems we have started with Christmas here now. As dusty said though, I'm not getting drawn into the stress of it. It's about being with our loved ones. And on that note, my mum called and said her fosterees were most likely spending Xmas with their own families (according to social worker) which means her and stepdad can come to us and stay over, rather than having to worry about driving etc. So 5 adults and my 2 littlies for Xmas here :p

Anti-stress and anti-BD vibes all round, with sticks and spoons for those who need them. Sorry about your sticky cakes, Bossy and I hope today is much, much calmer for everyone, particularly Ionafan.

I whinge about irritating lodgers on a regular basis, so I just wanted to say we've got one at the moment that is an absolute delight to have around. When I get fed up of the joyless, smelly ones I sometimes consider not taking anyone new, just repeat bookings, and then one like this comes along and it makes it such a pleasure!

Very stressy night with Mrs Dog, but she finally calmed down and is having a snoring lie in, so I'm not sure quite what's going on but hopefully whatever it was has passed. I've got absolutely no GUAG so I'm clearing stuff that doesn't require physical energy. My list has gone totally to pot which is frustrating, but I can't help that. Paperwork it will have to be.
    Better is good enough.

    Well done sushistar and Frizzle.

    I have
    - done the dailies
    - folded and put away clean washing
    - tried again to get the colour printer working and failed
    - rang local computer shop and talked to the very nice man there
    - checked prices / reviews / deliveries etc online
    - been to local computer shop and had a new printer from them. In the grand scheme of things atm, less stress is well worth £84 of my hard-earned pension.

Now I've just got to update my backup and then uninstall the old printer and install the new one. Fingers crossed that it all works! If not, I've got the computer man at the other end of the phone to help me. He's doing well out of us this week - DH took his laptop in and is spending over £200 to get the viruses removed from it and everything cleaned up

Narco, as I pulled up on the drive the fairies greeted me with their shrill little tweets. Good omen, I hope :) I must ask DH to refill the feeders, front and back.

GFlad you've got a nice lodger, HB, and that Mrs Dog is feeling better.
Sorry about the stuck cakes, Bossy. That wouldn't stop me eating them, given half a chance!
Dusty, that's been a nice start to your day. Hope it continues. Have you seen the GF apricot and almond dessert/cake (I think that's the right flavour) in the free $ain$bug$ Christmas booklet? It's probably online too.

    Back later....

Oh dear. Poor DD. Just had a trip to shopping centre to collect a book for DS. DD wanted to go up the escalator, and we smelt fish and chips at the top! So we shared a kids portion (mostly her, I'm on a fast day), then she wanted to buy a mini snow globe from Primarni. We get home and she's opened it. Stood outside the door "is this bit glass, mummy?" "Yes, I think so, be caref...." KLUNK SMASH. She's bumped it on the porch wall. Yes, it's definitely glass. In pieces, with glitter, all over the doorstep. She's devastated, bless her.

Right, I'm going to rescue the cakes ;):p

  • Hi All,

I should have said i am in this week. I had Mon & Tues off work to get the house organised ready for the christmas assault :p

I have to say I am very proud of myself and can safely say i have never seen my house so orgianised since we moved in (almost 2 years ago)

Hopefully i will now be able to keep up with flying each day. I find it so much easier to destress in a tidy house.

So before i went to paid stuff this morning i emptied and filled the DW and put the washing machine on and hung up.

Will strip all the bedding in the house tonight and have a general spruce up in our room.

Just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone reading all your posts has help me finally get motivated to do something about the house :D long may it last, but if it doesnt please someone kick me or slap me with a wet fish...cheers:rotfl:
