Hello all. I'm shattered again, I don't think I've stopped all weekend. Home bargains shop now done, dogs walked twice today and that is about it, so I'm still living in a tip. I just want to sleep but there's still dinner to prepare etc etc etc. I can't help feeling that I'm going down with a cold or something, just what I don't need as DH and I have a break away planned later this week.Spend less now, work less later.0

Another really lvely family day today. Church this morning and stayed for a cuppa and a natter. Nipped to shop on way home, just to get a few bits for the week. Then home for hotdogs in rolls! This afternoon we all did an hour of jobs. OH did an hour ironing so only one basket left. Kids did their rooms and ran around the house putting things away and I declutted the whole house. Looking positively tidy for a Sunday afternoon. Then we all sat down to watch a Christmas movie and now I'm just sorting out dinner. Also managed to put some washing on!Grocery challenge-

We've had a family day too, went on the Santa train this morning at the local steam railway. It's our grotto alternative, as my kids won't approach the big man, but will just about tolerate him coming to them. Had a brew and mince pie after in the cafe. Exchanged mini-gifts with our friends who we met there, and came home.
We've had a Sunday lunch then put the tree up with some help from my day. It looks nice but may need more lights. We'll see. No doubt I will rearrange a few things
Kiddies are just watching a Rudolph DVD then it's bath time. They want to decorate their rooms so once they've chosen which bits they want I'll stack the boxes to go back in the loft.
Really feels like Christmas now!
I'm starting my list for a Tosco delivery for the end of the week - have. £15 voucher to use by 14th so I'll get a few bits towards Xmas dinner I think. Stuff that will keep. Not going overboard but we will have 4 extra adults for 2 days and I'll need stuff for the children on the run up to and after the day - we won't be wanting to go shopping!
Don't think I'll be doing anything for New Year.Bossymoo

Had lovely lunch with step family but still have tea things to wash up.Last night went to a beautiful concert remembering the Christmas truce in WW1.Only downside was the freezing cold.
Hope everyone has a good Sunday evening.0 -
So sorry to hear your news, MummyRoys.
We've finally done something that I've been wanting to do for years. We normally get all the Christmas stuff out of the attic about 10 days before the day, and then have to do it in a hurry. We tear it all down in 10 minutes on OH's birthday (12th Night) and every year it all goes back up to the attic and irritates me because broken and no-longer-in-use stuff is being moved up and down every year without being sorted out. I told OH this year I wanted to cut the Christmas stuff by half - and we have. A CS will be getting all the good quality stuff tomorrow and all the stuff we have left is stuff we love. Except the tree, which is too big, but we've made the decision that it will be replaced. It's decorated for the last time, as OH couldn't find one he liked more having gone out and about searching for one, but I have a feeling there will be a few left after 26th which various places will have marked down. It was the very first thing we bought together, 21 years ago, but I don't think either of us feels the need to hang on to it, but mark it.
Bathroom, shower room and kitchen floor swabbed, detritus on the top two layers and stairs sucked up. Recycling, and there's a lot this week again - out. Towel wash done, darks about to be done, whites will be done tomorrow morning and then while Mrs Dog is at the groomers, I am hitting a laundrette. I've aired the feather duvet for two weeks, over doors in the house and for 36 hours outside on the line on a windy dry day, but I can still smell his aftershave. I need it for later in the week when we have extra guests, so it's going to have to be washed.Better is good enough.0 -
Hi all
I am completely out of touch. We have had family staying for the weekend and had a party on Saturday night so with preparing for that, trying to put the kitchen back together and nursing my son who has been in hospital for a minor op its been pretty manic here.
Back to some normality now. I am going to try and get a normal flying week done this week and I am looking forward to catching up on all the news.
Oh and I also have a bit of cold but I am feeling not to bad with it. Early night I think!0 -
