Enjoyed my meet up with friends yesterday. Then got the rest of my Xmas shopping.

Today I want to catch up a bit on the list. Need to write out work cards and start wrapping. Get tree up and decorations up. DD has my mums Xmas stuff and I had a lump I'm my throat on Friday when I saw them. Though also had good memories of helping her put them up.

Mummyroy Sorry to hear about your grandad. Hugs.

MrsMP Hope your Dad is home soon.

Decogecko I've bought myself a couple of things too to unwrap. Got some lovely perfume which is beautifully gift wrapped.

Hugs, spoons, sticks and healing vibes where needed.

      Morning lovely flyladies.

Deco & Boddy - at least you know that on Xmas day you'll open gifts that are just perfect!

It's raining here this morning and I think the pilot light has gone out on the back boiler, and I always find it really fiddly to sort out. If it stops raining I also want to get in the garden, as well as all the other things I need to do today.

Right, best put pork in the slow cooker and water my plants indoors.

Have a great day everyone, catch you all later.

    • Morning all! Much warmer in York this morning. Must be the heat generated by my nose. Went to help DD1 in the CS yesterday as they were lacking volunteers. Went in feeling fine, came out resembling Rudolph having sneezed solidly for 3 hours!

Sorry to hear your news Mummyroyof3. Difficult at any time, especially difficult at this time of year.

I feel for DD2. Last night was her 21st birthday night out with her mates. It had been planned for weeks. She knew that 2 mates couldn't come back because of uni commitments, but everyone else was up for it. After the tonsilitis she decided, reluctantly, to change it from a general night out to a meal. On Friday everyone was sympathetic and agreed and she booked a table at Pizza Express.

Then the excuses started. She knew one mate was ill - they'd met at the doctors. One cried off due to 'family commitments', another was suddenly babysitting. One decided not to come in case her car wouldn't start and another popped round to collect something, but couldn't make the meal. But she was out in town later as they saw her. So in total there were 5 of them, including DD2 and her boyfriend.

And to add insult to injury, having agreed at the first of the 21sts to buy proper presents (they bought her a Pandora charm), they gave her bath stuff. she is so gutted I could weep for her.

The plan for today is to head into town and do some shopping for DD2's birthday and to get on with Christmas shopping. I am sadly lacking in organisation for the festive season....

If anyone sees a stressed shopper in York today with a nose like Rudolph please avoid me. I have no wish to pass this cold on to other people!

CY - I will warn DD to avoid you in York today!

      So far I have:

      Put pork in slow cooker
      Watered plants
      WUDUPA
      Dusted one storage unit
      Had a bath
Put first of two washloads in the machine

Just having a cuppa before walking the dogs.

Mummyroysof3 So sorry to hear of your loss, and sending you hugs.

Cy i hope you DD had a good night anyway. It's happened to my DD as well.

Christmas Fair was fun yesterday, although not enough people came. At least we covered the cost of the stall and a small profit. It was quite chilly, and it took us late afternoon and all evening to warm up again.

Sun shining here, but very cold. Everyone having a long lie in, so I'm just about to clean the bathroom while it's quiet.

Afternoon all. Sorry to hear about your loss mummyroysof3 - look after yourself.

I am still battling the Cold From Hell. Now I have no voice, and nose is still streaming. It's not serious, but so inconvenient - I'm so busy!

Will try to be 'in' next week as the house has gone to pot.

Best laid plans, DH's bonnet blew open whilst taking DS3 to cricket so I had to go and rescue him and take over. Oh well. Time for a cuppa and cake now and then I'll zip to town to get something for dinner.
