When did you move out of your parental home?

When did you move out of your parental home?

I'm going to be 24 soon, graduated in July, started a new job in Oct (£24k), will be debt free in 5 months (credit cards/overdrafts), and am contemplating moving out then.

I'd only be able to afford a house share (London £££), but I feel it's time to move out and get some independence, but at the same time am contemplating how much it's going to cost!

  • For me life was intolerable throughout my teens, so as soon as I could afford it I was off.

I lived in a particularly poor area of the country, I got the cheapest flat I could, and moved out aged 18 when I had a job that would pay the funds.

    Never looked back.

19 to go to Uni, but I left 'properly' when I bought a house with my boyfriend (now husband) when I was 24. We started saving when i got a job after Uni, that took a year and the house we bought took another year to get into liveable condition.

Initially when I was 18 to go to uni but then I moved back in twice more after relationship breakups etc. I last moved out ten years ago but Dad is showing signs of what the Doctor thinks is dementia so I haven't ruled out moving back if needed.

I moved out at the age of 24 when I got married.
Lost my soulmate so life is empty.

I was pretty lucky I guess.

I went to a war zone for 9 months at 19 and was paid double wage while I was there ..Used the cash for a deposit on my first place

Moved out at 17. Lived with bloke for almost 2 years before buying my own house at 19. That was 18 years ago.
