    Not doing so well now,
spent almost all again because I fell so short at the end of the month due to an unexpected high phone bill.

    For the next round though,
    I've purchased 2 tins that I can't open.

One for this challenge & one where I can start saving for christmas 2016 or put towards my rainy day fund if I have enough. I'm keeping one of my old piggy banks which I can open for any holding money. I'll see how I get on this next round.

    Hi all,

I just wanted to apologise that I have not posted for a while and to say that I am still around and quietly potting away!

I hope everyone is ok and is looking forward to Friday!

    Take gentle care
    Lucy xx

Hello again, Lucy! :hello: It's so good to see you, but please don't apologise for not having had the time to visit; we all have times when life can be quite difficult...in some cases those are the times when we should try to make the effort, but I do understand. BTW, do you mean Thursday?!!!!! ;) Look after yourself Lucy.

Not just me then, Vicky...and it's my thread!!!!!! Bless em eh. :D

Ooooh, another lot for the pot, 32b3!
Very long time and no speak, hangs head in shame. Well I have been well and truly off the MSE band wagon. Slaps wrist and makes promise to sort myself out. Lap top been out of action for months so not been on here.

Well counted my dismal pot and am declaring £46.....

I promise to do better next year and if you will have me back would like to sign up again.

Not to worry, mumof3plusoh, at least you made the effort to pot...hopefully it'll be better next time. Congratulations, mumof3 it's a lot better than nowt!!!! ;) :T:j

NO, it most certainly is not, Hicksy!!!!!! I can't believe you asked the question! How about looking through Post 1 of Page 1!!!!
Naturally we're all hopeful of a healthy Grand Total, but I think we'll be fortunate to break last year's GT. Still, whatever we end up with there's a LOT OF PRIDE that should be felt by YOU ALL!!! :happyhear BTW - SPC 9 opens just after midnight of the 6th (in other words I'll have it all ready to go on after close of play of the 5th).

Don't sound to down, Moonbean, and remember that whatever the amount you end up with, it'll still have been saved by YOU!!!! :D Sadly bills are always a pest, especially when they're more than expected! :( However, try to be happy and proud at what you've achieved. :grinheart PS, both of your tins can be included next November (2016) you'll have saved it after all.
A happy Monday, everyone, and don't forget that.......there are just 3  days to go!!!

    Sue xx

NB: SPC Savers: 5th November is the new 2015 opening date!

Anyone wishing to join us, it's NEVER too late, so please just ask, you're more than welcome.

Tonight I potted yesterday's pottage from the kitchen bench-last night I thought I had set aside £9.49.tonight when I was potting it,there was £9.25 .That will teach me for trying to count up money at silly-hours at night.
Today's potting is 28p-all the loose change from my handbag.

It's getting very exciting! The conversation in our house has been about what we might use it for, since there are (thankfully) no urgent bills. We could do with a new dining table as ours is very bendy and creaking but then my daughters yesterday persuaded me that I could contribute towards Elsa and Anna dresses so that they can raise more money when we go charity carol singing at Christmas! Plus 'Elsa' wants to be Santa's helper at a Christmas Fayre and reckons the little girls will like that. Normally I'd say I wouldn't spend money on things like that, but then I remembered the sealed pot.

I should perhaps add that 'Elsa' is 17 and 'Anna' is nearly 20! Never too old for dressing up!

  • Morning all potters,

Nothing to report as after a very spendy half term doing things with the kids I've had a few much needed NSD's. Due to being organised and taking own refreshments on activities I have still got £30 left from the half term activities budget. Whatever is left of this on Weds evening will go in the pot ready for declaration day on Thursday.

    See you all there :D

I've been doing some last minute calculations.

£52 out of the housekeeping money was spent on household items and had it come out of the household budget then I would have had £52 more to put in the sealed pot.

Easily sorted - budget amended and holding pot has £52 more money in it...

As above, some items bought for the family came out of the housekeeping budget - budget amended and an extra £32 came out of the right budget and another £32 for the holding pot.

There may be one more budget amendment I can do - watch this space...

However, £84 is not bad at all.

I'm just trying to account properly for all my spending, especially when it means I will have more money in my pot :j

A very good afternoon to everyone, though I'd still thought it was morning - got that bit totally wrong. :( Anyway, have a good day SPCers. For all those not up to scratch have a few {{{hugs}}} to try to help you back into being fine. :D

Not to worry, Saver-upper, it wasn't too far off the mark. Keep hard at it.

An excellent way to save and save well, stormpassing!! All the best in being able to save as much as possible to declare on Thursday! :j

Sounds as though you and DH are as keen as each other to save and save as much as possible, Justforme. It's wonderful when both DH & DW are 'in it together'...so to speak. Well done on the roadkill! :D

I think I understand what you're saying, Seaotter, though I'd advise you think long and hard about what YOU want to spend your savings on. Why can't Elsa and Anna pay for the dresses they want? Sounds fair to me.

Yes, Westie, the blighter seems to be ticking like a mad thing at the moment. I hope you had a lovely weekend.

By golly, Frogletina, you're definitely keen on budgeting, but it's working in your favour for sure! £84 is fantastic, all the best with another budget!!!! :j

Sorry folks, but I'm having dire problems with my signing off piece due to colour and size going up the creak
