    Hugs to you ETO :grouphug:

Been to Mr T today, was accepted onto their latest try me free and got a £5 voucher toward a christmas gift :D its the second one ive done (last one was a free bottle of wine that my dad had to review for me as I don't drink :rotfl:) so used it toward Monopoly for christmas day (cost me a £5er as it was reduced from £17 to £10) I then review my experience with them through any media I want and they give me clubcard points as well :D:D:D

30p in the pot today, now time to get back to that darned blanket! I don't think it will EVER be finished!

  • No shopping for me today. I have been suffering really badly with heartburn to the point it's making me sick. Other half went and got me some rennies (spoke to NHS direct) and bought himself a half with the change! tut tut! now just need to get the taste out of my mouth; blurgh! ETO, my heart goes out to you at this really awful time, sadly sad things can often happen when we're still struggling to accept grief. Life can be beautiful and at times it is so bitterly cruel, the reasons for the latter we will never know and it doesn't make sense, but sadly, it is all part of life.

You've read my PM and part of that included the thoughts of 32b2, and if your Dad's dog was elderly then maybe he wanted to go to his master. If so, it's sad that you had to play a part in this, but it could already be that you're helping your Dad too! :)

Read again the posts of Alwayshappy and scotsmumof3, they too have had such sorrowful times in life, but time has helped get them through it all. One day you will be helping another through your own experience of this strange, sad and yet wonderful world...in time.

For now {{{{hugs}}}} prayers and thoughts for you.

    Love, Sue xx

Have dug out the savings jar I forgot I have, one of those that are supposed to be smashed as no opening. Still nothing in it yet as I only have a £20 note and I need to hang on to that for unplanned outgoings this week.

On the other hand, I have also found a jar to put small change in. I'm hoping to put only notes and £1 and £2 coins in the sealed pot. That's the plan anyway.

I know you used the words "supposed to" in your post, Hoipolloi, but please don't be tempted to fulfil the actions to smash your pot, there's a relatively easy way to get the contents out. See my post on Page 1. Your 2nd paragraph is a great idea. ;)

had to break into mine for the xmas fair at school, just in case!

but as soon as im back home i'll be adding it back in notes...there was £45 in there! so will add £50

To save you breaking into your savings, grassgirl, please read the part of my 1st post on Page 1 about a holding pot, it makes far more sense at such times. Give it a go. :D

I know what you mean, 32b3, but when I worked I only used to get Sundays off. :(

See you GP for some Gaviscon, Hicks, that'll sort the heartburn out; a common effect of pregnancies I'm afraid, but do ask your Dr to be sure.

Enjoy your Sunday, SPCers!! :j Save well!

Ooooh,I am becoming sooooooo MSE-ish,Martin would be proud :money:.
Months after reading [STRIKE]our master's[/STRIKE]Martin's suggestion of getting a sim-only mobile contract,I got around to asking about it.I was going to go instore, but wasn't looking forward to it on a Saturday in December,so I started with an online chat.Thought I would see what it was all about, then drag myself to the store to arrange it.What actually happened was I spent 20 minutes having an online chat, and came away with a £12/month saving(£20 to £8) :j:j:j:j.So I think for the next few months, when my DD comes out of my account,I will add £12 to my pot :j:j.
I also phoned British Gas to see if they owed me money (unreturned credit) from when I left 12 months ago.Unfortunately,it seems it was already paid to me.
Am thinking about phoning my current provider to see if they will refund the £200-odd I am in credit with them at the moment (not sure if that is actually right, because since changing to them last September,I have already had one £340 rebate and rate reduction.Surely they couldn't still be over-charging me 017.gif.)
Am about to pot some change that has been sitting on the kitchen bench:a £5 note,£1 coin and 10p piece,so all 3 pots will be fed today.

  • Hello to everyone, not been able to catch up since last week. not sure what has happened to this week!

I'm afraid I've only been able to pot a £2 coin and 18p in coppers that were weighing my purse down! I will have to try harder next week. However I am going to my mum's tomorrow until Tuesday as she has a hospital appointment on Monday and no-one to take her so I said I would take a couple of days and leave the family to fend for themselves. DH can do all the taxi driving for a change!:rotfl:

    Rampant Recycler Debt-free and Proud!
    Afternoon all

Just popping on as need some hugs and lovely words. We've just had to make a most horrendous decision. Our family pet dog, (my mum and dads dog) has just had to be put to sleep. It's awful and only 7 weeks after losing our beautiful dad. It's been the worst year.
I am soo sorry you are having such a sad time atm.

I often wonder why all these things seem to come together. My Dad went Christmas week 14 years ago and my mother the following Easter - think she just gave up ! Maybe your pooch just missed his master too much as well. I know it doesn't help but honestly things do get better. If you feel really down then maybe some 'talking therapy' would help if you see your Dr.

I am sending you a big squidgy hug, a rainbow to brighten your days and will mention you to the maker. Hth and be kind to yourself.
