Have dug out the savings jar I forgot I have, one of those that are supposed to be smashed as no opening. Still nothing in it yet as I only have a £20 note and I need to hang on to that for unplanned outgoings this week.

On the other hand, I have also found a jar to put small change in. I'm hoping to put only notes and £1 and £2 coins in the sealed pot. That's the plan anyway.

ETO I'm lost for words but I am so sorry to hear your sad news, its an extra sadness added to an already unbearably upsetting time. Its a cliche that time is a great healer but it will gradually get better. My father died at work suddenly (13 years ago this week) and I still have conversations with him at times - the loss is still there but the pain is less. Take a day at a time and don't forget to pop on here to let off steam at anytime.
    I'm not a failure if I don't make it, I'm a success because I :tried!

Evening all and a cold day here!!

EverTheOptimist - sorry also to hear of more sad news. You've had it tough lately and at times it doesn't seem fair. Take extra care of yourself and if it's any consolation, 2015 is only weeks away. You will be glad to see the back of 2014.

I potted 4 x £1 coins today. I would like to hit £100 before the end of the year, but what happens, happens.

    Stay warm.

eto so sorry to hear your news. It is really hard when you lose a link to a loved one. I lost my dad and my younger brother within 9 months of each other 25 years ago and there isn't a day goes by I don't think about them both. Now though the thoughts and memories are of good times and the sadness has faded. If I hadn't had DS1 at the time I don't know what I would have done. You will get through this. Keeping you in my thoughts x

On a happier note potted £1.37 today £1 of that was roadkill :)
