    Happy New Year,everyone :j.
It has been a funny few days.Six of us live in a far-too-small house. We have made a few big steps toward getting a house extension (planning permission has been given, plans drawn, structural engineer drawings done, etc). Then, out of the blue a few weeks ago,OH announced that, with our family crisis the middle of last year,(which did knock us financially, and we still have nearly £2000 to pay for a few bits,),he didn't think we could afford the extension anytime soon.(He is refusing to put it on mortgage, wants to save for about the next 100000 years to pay in cash .I was sooooooo furious,I didn't speak to him for 2.5 days, and then was still very cool towards him.
Soooo, the upshot of that was that OH and I are moving into the front room, and 4 kids are being re-arranged throughout the 3 bedrooms. Now,having started on 27th Dec,my plan was to have 3 bedrooms painted, carpetted, decluttered, and kids re-arranged into new rooms by the time school goes back on Monday. Not gonna happen. Our house is in chaos:the contents of 3 bedrooms emptied into the front room (which now has about 1 metre square floor-space),wardrobes pushed aside so kids can't access clothes except off the clothes airer. When that runs out of clothes, who knows :o??
Gradually I am getting the kids to look at evey single piece of tat/toy in their room and ask themselves "Does it have all the pieces?Do I need it?Can I donate it?Could we sell it?" Blimey, the stuff my kids had :eek:.
At the moment all the kids are in inappropriate bedroom arrangements (12yo girl and 11yo boy sharing,5yo and 8 yo girls sharing tiny box room, even with bunks, still not even enough room for their IKEA chest of drawers for clothing). In my head,by the end of next week, each of the 3 bedrooms will be a model of minimalism: a bed,a wardrobe or chest of drawers, some under-bed storage, and that is it_if it doesn't fit in that storage, then you've got too much stuff!!
So far 1.5 rooms have been painted, and that is it
icon_rolleyes.gif.OH is out for the rest of the weekend, and back to work on Monday,so we won't be as far forward as I wanted. But still, things are happening. And it is a good excuse to get rid if tat!!:j:j

Anyway, what it does mean,is that there has been very little spending, and no potting.(I did find a cylindrical chocolate tin which I must have owned about 10 years ago,I vaguely recall getting it one Christmas.)It contained about £8 in very small coins. When I have a chance, and can find my pots in all the chaos,I will pot it.

Tonight I also made a sale for £15(as part of the "2015:Make £1000" challenge),which I had fully intended to pot.But as soon as the buyer left I felt bad for selling one of my son's games (that he used once,2 years ago,and only because I asked to play it with him),without asking him first. So he was thrilled to have earnt £15 instead icon_rolleyes.gif.

My pot is getting heavy - I will definitely need a larger one :j

£2.50 to add today as I had that amount in nectar points which reduced my bill at Sainsburys.

Well I'm still feeling physically rubbish....but feeling a bit clear-headed now that I've had some sleep....so that's something at least!!

I WILL get through this....I know I keep saying it, but I just have to keep on going....and I'll get there!!

I'm up Working this morning....don't want to be and don't really feel up to it, but since I can Work from home it's not so bad...so I can't complain really....

Have Potted a £5 note this morning....So at least I'm still Potting....I have a good feeling about this Year as far as Saving and Potting goes.... :D

Welcome to the New Members....Penguin and Vicky....Our lovely gorgeous Leader, SueUU, will be along soon...she will give you your very own number which you need to put in your Signature (please ask if you're not sure how to do this!!)....while you're waiting, please do go and have a read of Page 1, it will give you all the do's and don't's and give you some invaluable information....And then all you have to do is keep Posting and keep Potting....and let us know how you're getting on (cause we're VERY nosey!! :D)....and don't forget to come back on November 5th to let us know your Grand Total... :) You are MOST welcome to be here....We're a friendly lot :)

Anyway....I also wanted to say a BIG Thank You to EVERYONE for "listening" to my moaning over the past few Weeks....It WILL get better and then there will be no stopping me...But I appreciate having somewhere to go where you will all put up with me ;):D;)

"See" you all a bit later on....Not sure if there will be anymore Potting as I'm not really well enough to go out and I have Food here so don't need anymore....but we'll see....xXx :)

Wow I've just seen the 2014 total that's amazing, well done everyone! I've not really started yet as mine is linked to my parking money and I'm not back at work until Monday :)

But, I plan to try and top my £650 of last year, with £700 - fingers crossed.

:D Hi all SPCers! What a mild spell again....and wet!! Take care all those SPC members who are poorly. {{{Hugs}}} to you all, and - get well soon! :grinheart

Well done on staying positive, Helen, no matter how you feel. At least you know the reason and have been assured that it's nothing sinister, and YES yu will get through it!! Brilliant saving and well spotted with the roadkill, I keep mine in a separate pot too, but I just don't want to open it, though saying that, the roadkill's slowed up a lot of late though I had a £5er a few weeks before Christmas!! Keep those spirits up! BTW, Many thanks indeed for the welcomes, Helen, and a gold star for you! :staradmin

    Well saved, scotmumof3...

you also, tizzi13, well spotted on that roadkill!! :j

    Fingers crossed then, Hicksy!

A very safe, healthy and Happy New Year to you also, Lucy! Really pleased you had a great Christmas, and well done on your saving!

Re the PM, Queenriderbrekke. Brilliant news of your fantastic savings which just pushed the SPC 7 Grand Total up to £60 thousand +!!!! yay.gif I won't say I've been waiting for you, but I HAVE!!! :D However, so we've got ALL the Totals in the one thread please could you pop your Total of £2.356.52 on the SPC 7 thread for me which you'll find HERE?. Thanks so very much! BTW, we are now bringing the declaration date forward so members have their cash earlier to spend. It will now be on the 5th November in 2015!!!! So, if you could please remember that we go out with a BANG on Bonfire night I'd be so grateful!!

Oh dear, Saver-upper, such a shame about OH and the house. I understand what you mean as our DD & SiL have 7 in their 3 bed house, a tight squeeze, but it works ok. Best wishes with sorting the rooms.
