I think it rather depends on when your 0% deal finishes. If this month, pay it all off and save £400, if longer, pay off as little as you need to (it's costing you nothing) and save as much as you can. Interest rates are poor but they are >0.

If I had a credit card with a 0% deal and a balance, I would pay off as little as I had to (minimum payment?) for as long as I could, saving all spare cash and ensuring of course that I could pay off the balance just before the 0% deal came to an end. That way, okay, the interest would be small but it would be something.

    When does the 0% end?

as its 0% then just pay the minimum and save the money in savings, as you are not paying interest you may as well make some in savings account until you need to pay it off, end of the 0% deal.

I have one 0% ending in January so I am saving till xmas then I will pay it off and hopefully made some interest on it, as they have lent it to me at 0% so its a little bit of extra funds.

Like always and as our guru says just make sure you have the money ready to pay if off before it ends, if you think you wont have it then pay it off now.

Only you know what type of saver you are...

Thank you, there's a lot of months left on it (paperwork is at home) so I'll just do the minimum amount to get it finished before the 0% runs out.

Plus saving £1,000 sounds better in my head than £400 :)

A very early October update for me and one I wasn't meant to make... I know I'm repeating myself here so apologies to those who recall me saying this before, but I hadn't intended to post any more savings for the remainder of the year as I have achieved my 2015 goal and wanted to take the opportunity to top up my rainy day fund in lieu of some private dentistry I plan to have done. Last month I got carried away and updated with savings as I just couldn't break the habit, and I've proceeded to transfer some money into my ISA again this month. However, the reason this time was the realisation that I was £268.89 away from reaching my longer term goal, which was to replenish the inheritance money I received after dad passed away 3 years ago, of which I'd spent £6k on a new (to me) car. Therefore, as soon as I realised this, I couldn't resist making the transfer and seeing the shiny round £10k figure in my ISA, marking that achievement!

A quick thank you to SF for running this thread and to everyone else for participating as I seriously don't think I would have done so well without that extra motivation! I'm so pleased to have reached this target because savings from now on will no longer be 'repaying a debt' (that's kinda how it felt) but instead will be pure, unadulterated savings!

Knowing me, I will probably put something more into the ISA during the remainder of 2015, but we'll see how it goes!

Had a nice surprise today. Went to my bank account to find that one of my ISA's had paid out its interest on the last day September.
    + £72.70
Will add to my total when I post my form later in the month.
