Intrigued--how do you accidently book a holiday?

Errr....We didn't read the small print on the United Airlines website, and purchased Fare Lock, which I thought was a charge to hold the price, whilst DH & I argued about whether we should go or not. And then it said that full payment was required within 7 days

Moral of this story is......read all the terms and conditions :rotfl:

Luckily we had more or less decided that we wanted to go away anyway.

Apologies for my lateness. I've declared £1089.47 for last month - really the last 2 months.

I've not had much energy to focus. but am now in a position where I'll have to.

    Declaring £1,200 for October.

Would have been more put we went to a wedding reception in a expensive hotel (grrr for people getting married!) so that was £100 gone.
Then had to pay back some money we borrowed, another £100 gone.
Then had to pay the electric company £98. Grrrr for utilities!

£650 put into long / medium term savings today.
Have hit my target for the year.
Not sure if I am going to increase my target as even though I will continue to save in January I have £2k decorating / work on the house bill to pay. So all savings from now on will go towards this.

Declaring £250 into the Vanguard LS 60 fund for October and £500 to the Nationwide flex current account earning 5%.

However I have spent a horrific amount of money this month from previous years' reserves. £9500 to part exchange my 2 seater convertible to a family saloon and £7500 gifted to my two daughters for home improvements, change of car and maternity leave. Will be making this up over the next year by aiming to save £1500-£2000 per month from November 2015 to December 2017 rather than the £1000 currently saved.
