  • Hi SF - for some reason I can't access the two links on the first post for the easy update guide and savings totals? Any ideas?

Well done Prudent, how inspiring! :T

I am dead chuffed to declare £1,311.25 for April after some birthday savings, a bit of luck, a lot of matched betting offers and reduced spending.

Will update my signature shortly, payday tomorrow :D

Declaring £900.00 for April. Another tough month. Hoping next month sees us back on target before the dreaded car insurance is due.

April's total is £889 for me, I saved a bit more than usual this month as I wanted to squeeze a bit more in the ISA before the new tax year began. Also put the car though an M.O.T which as we all know could go either way. Got a pretty decent insurance quote too, although with 9 years non claims, £25 per year would feel excessive lol.

1/3 of the way through the year and 42% of target met, plus five friday's in may = five paydays, so if I can match £800+ i'll be grateful.

We're up to £2400 for April :) with a bit of jiggling I think we can add another £1k, meaning we've almost hit our 2015 target already, so happy, things will probably slow down now for the rest of the year....

    Spreadsheet updated :)

My savings are going to be zero this month :( we're buying a new car, which we desperately need, but I'm a bit annoyed about the £0!

I would like to add my April total please. Payday isn't for a week, but I know what is due out before then and declaring now stops any impulse buys.

I am pleased to declare an unexpectedly bumper month:

    £1,400 (ISA interest)
£3000 from a newspaper competition win for sharing a money saving story :D
£2,000 which is a mixture of savings from my salary, interest coming in on another account and a small premium bond win.

This does not leave a lot to tide me over to payday, but I wanted to throw in every possible pound as I was so close to achieving my total.
This now takes me to my total and very significantly to the end of a long savings journey. I now have the amount I wanted to set aside for the future and a new adventure can begin. It will begin with small but important steps to focus more on my health & fitness. I am hoping the well being aspect of this will soon include working less hours. I owe so much of this to all the wonderful posters on MSE who have taught and encouraged me. :)

oops just realised I didn't total that (sorry SF). I am declaring £6400

    What a month!!! Fantastic!

So come on, whats the money saving story?? :D
