Thank you for the number Slowlyfading.

I've updated via the form for the first couple of months. I will declare this month on Friday. It has been an expensive start to the year with a big holiday to start the year off and a big purchase this month but it has been worth it! Our saving ability has been hit but nothing was taken from our savings from last year which is a bonus.

Onwards and upwards (after this month lol)
  • £1200 saved this month, plus a weekend away paid for in advance.

I thought I was doing so well till I went to the dentist this morning and was told I need an implant of £2200  My dental savings pot currently at £500 won't go far!

    Hi,

Just seen this, is it too late to join this? I can add figures i've saved from Jan to present?

Should we add interest we get on current savings or just put what we physically put in?
I've added you to the spreadsheet :) just let me know your figures from Jan to now please! It's up to you; some people count the interest and others dont.

    Hi,

Thanks! I Pm'd you the figures for Jan - March.

Incidentally, what do the colours mean on the sheet? I see some percentages are in Red, Organge, Yellow, Green...

What colour means your on track for meeting your target, what means your under your target and what means your above your target?

    Thanks!

They're not for behind target, on target or above, they just change colour when you hit a certain percentage.

I would like to add my April total please. Payday isn't for a week, but I know what is due out before then and declaring now stops any impulse buys.

I am pleased to declare an unexpectedly bumper month:

    £1,400 (ISA interest)
£3000 from a newspaper competition win for sharing a money saving story :D
£2,000 which is a mixture of savings from my salary, interest coming in on another account and a small premium bond win.

This does not leave a lot to tide me over to payday, but I wanted to throw in every possible pound as I was so close to achieving my total.
This now takes me to my total and very significantly to the end of a long savings journey. I now have the amount I wanted to set aside for the future and a new adventure can begin. It will begin with small but important steps to focus more on my health & fitness. I am hoping the well being aspect of this will soon include working less hours. I owe so much of this to all the wonderful posters on MSE who have taught and encouraged me. :)

oops just realised I didn't total that (sorry SF). I am declaring £6400
  • Wow Prudent, that's a good month! Congratulations on the competition win, very impressive money saving skills! :)

Thank you. The win was very unexpected, but a great help :)
