  • #65 reporting £926.22 for April

My usual £800 savings, a tiny £1.22 of interest and £125.00 for opening a Halifax account.

I've joined the people over at the current account boards making the most of the account opening offers. I'll hopefully get another £100 from Co-op in May.

Last night I came home from work in a bit of a grump but instead of my idea of a pint and a meal out, my partner convinced me to go to a gym class and then she cooked a lovely meal and we caught up with stuff on the Sky planner. So essentially a 'free' evening.. as all of those things were already paid for with our monthly budget costs. The best things in life are.... budgeted for :D

  • With OHs car and other expenses this month (insurance, rac membership, car tax for my car) I too would be declaring a negative number. My plan is to declare zero savings until I reach the point where I was before.
  • I'm always looking for ways to make saving, investment and extra money and now loads of ideas are in one place! Thanks!

Just done April's "banking" - declaring £525.58 for April, so up to £819.13 for the year, or 13.7%.

I've been stuck around £85,000 for several months now, and feeling a bit despondent as I've had so many expenses lately. I sometimes wonder if I'll even make it to £90,000 by the end of the year! But let's be positive :o

Also, I've seen a house that I love (and could comfortably afford), but it's close to being sale agreed.

Ah Tara sorry to hear you're feeling a bit despondent. Don't be because despite a very expensive start to the year you're still adding to the savings. I'm confident you will smash that 100k barrier very soon! I've been a very long time lurker on here before I started posting and your amazing savings journey is inspiring.:T But don't buy a house just yet because you're spurring me on and I'm a selfish moo who needs the motivation....:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

And yet another £125 whisked away to savings account by standing order. I don't even have to think about it. How clever is that !
