Does anyone know how the new £1000 of tax free interest works if you have more than one savings account? I also receive far more than that in interest although I am a basic rate tax payer. Do I have pay tax on all my interest and then pay it back. I have followed some links on here to read up on it and I am still confused.

Just managed to switch my account to Halifax to take advantage of the £125 plus £5 per mth reward before the 5th April deadline - phew!:j

Initially thought I might pay the £125 into my savings but I have around £600 remaining on my credit card, that I want to get rid off, so will be paying £100 off that and the £25 will go into my savings pot for April :)

I've optimistically transferred my April savings into my ISA already (I usually wait till the end of the month before moving it across, just in case things don't go as planned). I'm nowhere near my annual ISA limit but figured it didn't hurt to make sure it was used in the 2014-15 allowance instead of encroaching on my 2015-16 allowance. I'll wait until the end of the month before declaring though, just in case I can tuck away a bit more! :)

Very late posting my March figure, £1600. That's just about keeping me on track but April is going to be difficult.
    Keep saving everyone!!

Another £600 into regular savers, expensive month already, £4K to get DS on the road, it never ends.

Will keep chipping away at £12K total, but will have to pay car off before making any larger savings, probably from August onwards, hopefully I'll be able to get to target
