I'm coming up on 5 years Licence Free (and £870 richer), and the no contact policy has served me well, thus far.

Question is, do we still need a TVL ?. The BBC has a commercial arm that runs several advert-supported channels on Freeview (it owns 50% of UKTV, with Scripps owning the other 50%). That's 10 TV channels (some of which are available only on Sky/VM) in the UK alone.

Their worldwide income for the year ending 2012 was £1.124Bn.
    Never Knowingly Understood.

    Member #1 of £1,000 challenge - £13.74/ £1000 (that's 1.374%)

    3-6 month EF £0/£3600 (that's 0 days worth)

I'm afraid you do still need licence (assuming you are watching/recording live TV) patman99.

A licence is required for watching ANY live TV, irrespective of the channel(s) watched, or the method of delivery.
