OH's parents have gone, thank goodness. We went out for a meal on Sunday night (don't think they know how to eat at home!), which they very kindly paid half for. Seeing as they paid half, there were no signs of dessert, coffees or steak and it only cost £36 for all of us.

I'm feeling a bit better in myself. I did a 6 hour shift yesterday and didn't struggle too much. I'm off today, but am looking after my mum. She had her other eye done yesterday (cataracts) and needed someone to take her there and stay overnight with her. Back at work tomorrow, but only a 4 hour shift.

I'm trying to get back into comping. Would be nice to win another weekend break to make up for missing the Austria trip. Preferably one in the sun this time!! I had a little win the other day - an Olay moisturiser. I use Olay anyway, so was pleased with that.

I really need to post more. I'm currently on a 4-day run at work. Did 6 hours each Saturday and Sunday and then 8 hours yesterday. Doing 9-5 today, which means getting up early to get my nebuliser done. At least I get the evening off though. I am feeling pretty tired now though. I'm off tomorrow, got a 3 hour shift on Thursday and then off for another 3 days.

In between all that, I've been trying to get some Amazon vouchers so I can start my Christmas shopping. I always leave it late every year. I got £7.50 at the weekend, so my balance is currently £23.93. Need a lot more than that though.

    Will post more tomorrow.

  • You don't leave it late! You are amazing at getting Amazon vouchers!

Good to see you posting XXX

    Thanks Buffy :)

So, I've got a couple of goals for the rest of 2015. I'm hoping I can reach them:
    1. Pay back OH's friend the £2,500 we owe him by 31st December 2015
    2. Get £250 worth of Amazon voucher to pay for Christmas presents
OH and I had a bit of an argument last night about the money owed to his friend. So we've both agreed to pay it off ASAP. I don't want to go into 2016 owing him money. OH has got 3 pay days before the end of the year, and we've agreed to pay £500 off from each, so that only leaves £1,000 to find. Shouldn't be too hard.

The Amazon goal might be more tricky. I'd say there's about 9 weeks in which to get the vouchers and order the presents, so I work that out to be around £25 a week (including the nearly £25 I've already got). The earning isn't too bad, it's the getting paid part that's tricky.

I'm going to post again tonight with a list of sites to earn cash and vouchers from, just to remind myself not to neglect any of them. I want to avoid mystery shopping in which I have to go out and about, as that will get in the way of accepting overtime.

    Be back later.

    4. Swagbucks
    5. Opinion World
    6. Valued Opinions
    7. iSay
    8. Pinecone
    Sites for earning cash
    1. Panelbase
    2. You Gov
    3. Onepoll
    4. Jackpot Joy
    5. Textbroker
    6. Emystery Shopping

I know there are more sites, I just can't think of them right now. I'll keep adding to this list as I think of them or discover new ones.

I'd like to try and redeem for an Amazon voucher each day. Not sure how successful that will be, but we'll see. I also think the best way of trying to earn cash is Textbroker. All the others are hit and miss. I've also got my overtime too, although I've only got 2 pay days left before the end of the year.

Not really had a great start to my little challenges.

I felt a bit poorly on Tuesday last week, but tried to soldier on. I went into work on the Thursday, as it was only 3 hours, and then felt awful when I woke up on the Friday. Yesterday, my voice decided to do a disappearing act. I also had a big coughing fit and badly strained my back. It's very painful, but was absolute agony when I woke up this morning. It has eased a bit during the day, but every time I cough (which is pretty often for me!!), a sharp pain shoots through my lower back.

Needless to say, I had to call in sick today. No voice to serve customers and my back problems mean that I wouldn't have been able to do anything there anyway. My boss just about got the gist of what I was saying.

In other news, I received this in the post today - no idea where from, but clearly a prize. We're going to sell it and put the money towards paying OH's friend back.

  • So sorry to hear you've been feeling so ill, Emz. I hope you'll be feeling more comfortable soon.

I love winning prizes but it's a real pain when they don't put anything in the package to say who it's from and what comp it was a prize for:(. I'm sure you'll have no problem selling it though.

    Thanks Lou and CBC :A

My voice is slowly coming back. Wish my back would get better. I keep waking up really early, having a coughing fit, and then being in too much pain to go back to sleep. I got some strong painkillers from the pharmacy last night, but can only take them at night as they make you drowsy.

I got an email this morning saying I'd won a personalised kids story book. The comp closed in May - just makes you wonder why they take so long to inform the winners sometimes. I've given my nephew's details over and will give him the book as one of his Christmas presents (presuming it arrives on time!!).

  • I hope the strong painkillers will make you feel better very soon:beer:

Well done on your latest win, you've done really well for prizes recently:T.

I love personalised story books. Your nephew is a lucky little boy and I'll bet he'll be thrilled to bits when he gets it:j
