Card-gate has been solved. OH's parents sent it in the post, but didn't put enough postage on it, so I got a card through today asking me to collect it and pay £1.20 for the privilege - think I'll give that a miss!!
Had a lovely meal last night with the girls from work. Cost me £14 in the end, which wasn't too bad.
No joy selling my phone just yet. I've put it down to £30, but if I haven't had any takers by Wednesday, I might just take it into CEX and sell it there. The website says they'll give me around £20, which is better than nothing.

Sorry about the card fiasco. At least you know they didn't completely forget your special day. Your meal with the girls sounds great especially as it wasn't too expensive. Good Luck selling the phone:beer:
The price that Royal Mail charge for underpriced items is a disgrace:(. I remember when the postman used to collect the fee for underpriced items when he redelivered them (probably before you were even born, Emz:rotfl:). I was staying with my Granny one Christmas and the postman asked her to pay the few pence that it was in those days for a redelivered Christmas card. She asked him if she could have a quick look at the writing on the envelope and then told him to take it back as she didn't want it! She just wanted to see who'd sent it so she knew that they hadn't forgotten her:rotfl:0 -
So sorry I missed your Birthday Emz, so belated greetings. Maybe there's a gift token or cash inside the card your oh's parents sent ! Might be worth paying the £1.20 just to be sure. Once again sorry. Take care Lots of Love xxx0

Aww, thanks - don't worry about it.
Your comment about the gift token or cash made me laugh - you obviously don't know OH's parents :rotfl:. More chance of me winning the lottery than them giving me any birthday money

What cheapskates:eek:. It's lovely (and a miracle) that their son has turned out so kind and generous:j.
Have a good day:beer:0 -
Got someone coming to hopefully buy my phone within the next hour.
Also had a text from work asking if I can do 4 hours overtime next week. It's been a while, so couldn't say no to the extra £30.

Afternoon
Sold my phone the other day for £25 - better than nothing and more than I would have made at CEX. Good job too as it's the week before payday for both me and OH and we're running low on funds.
Having said that, we're going to see OH's parents at the weekend (yes, we did only see them last weekend. Tried to dissuade him, but if I go, at least I can watch how much money he spends - he would offer to pay for a meal for them). We're going to set up the soundbar they bought last week. Means I've had to put aside money for diesel and half of a meal. So annoying.
I've been comping my little heart out over the past couple of days, so fingers crossed for some good wins soon.
Roll on payday!!
